Success on Purpose Podcast with Chris Creary

Today I'm talking about being still. Being in that quiet, secret place. It's fundamental to spiritual growth. We all need to carve out time in our day to read the Word of God and pray. And oftentimes we need to step away for a longer time to hear what God wants to say to us. We need to be still. Today I'm going over some examples of this in the word of God to encourage you to find a time to be still in your daily routine.

I hope I don’t lose some of you with this episode. If you didn’t know I’m a car guy. I love old Hondas. I love working on cars and I’ve been working on a restoration project for the past year and a half. In 2020 I had the opportunity to buy a 93 Honda Del Sol. It was in rough condition but I finally got it in a shape where I can drive it. Looking back at all the work I noticed there’s many of parallels between a car restoration project and the Christian life. I’m going to use this episode to show you the similarities. By the end you will see how much God loves you.

Every now and then we will get into a conflict with another person. We need to know how to be mature and approach it the correct way so that we don’t destroy a relationship or potential opportunity to share the gospel to someone. The Bible gives us a lot of tips on how to approach these situations and shows us how to handle them like mature Christians. We have to be able to speak the truth that is full of grace and show grace that is full of truth. Let’s learn more and get into now.

Today the roles and responsibility of family members are so distorted that we don’t even know what a family is supposed to look like. We need to get back to the basics to understand the roles and responsibilities of each member of the family and be lead by Gods word in carrying out those roles. God will help us as we follow his word and when we do, we will see healing in our communities and cities.

The word providence is defined as “the protective care of God or of nature as a spiritual power. Or timely preparation for future eventualities.” When you look at your situation, if you believe that everything that you see is all that’s going on, then you are mistaken. God is always moving things around so that we end up where he wants us to be, doing what he has for us to do to accomplish his purposes on the earth. Today we are going to see some of these amazing examples from the Bible so they can encourage us daily in our own lives.

When you hear the word surrender it sounds almost like a negative thing. When a someone surrenders to the police they will end up in jail. When a soldier surrenders to the enemy they could become a prisoner of war. But when we surrender to God it’s actually good for us. This is so because God loves us, has a good plan for us and wants to do us good. This is why we can surrender to God and allow him to have his way in our lives. Here are some examples of total surrender from the Bible that we can learn from.

We have so much to be thankful for. Oftentimes we don’t stop and take a look at our lives to see all that we have. All that God has provided for us. You may have heard this before. “Count your blessings one by one. It will amaze you what the Lord has done.” And indeed he has done so much for us. We forget to thank him for the little things that we do so have. The automatic subconscious things that we do every day without thinking about it. And the big things that we finally achieve. We have a tendency to forget to say thank you. So today I have an exhortation for you about this.
