One of the Bible’s most consistent and compelling themes is the suffering servant. Time and time again, God brings redemption and healing to the nations through the suffering of his righteous servants. It’s what he did through Joseph. It’s what he does, ultimately, in Jesus. And it’s what he intends to do through us. Suffering servants are at the center of God’s plan.
