It was a weekend of beat downs and staking title claims. Adam, Jordan and Caleb discuss THAT result between Manchester United and Liverpool, whether Man United should cut bait with Solskjaer, and whether Mo Salah is in fact even human. City bring Brighton's bright start to a sudden end, Chelsea obliterate Norwich almost beyond recognition, Watford stun Everton with 5 goals at Goodison, and Adam soaks up the joy of watching West Ham triumph over Spurs. Plus there's Caleb's English League Championship update and a great story about Fulham captain Tom Cairney.
This week we learn that money can't make Matt Richie a left back. It's Newcastle's first ever match under the new Saudi-funded regime, and Adam, Caleb and Jordan are here to talk about it all. There's defeat for Manchester United at the King Power, which may or may not surprise you. Chelsea just manage to win in the second most important match in West London of the weekend, and Mo Salah is still doing Mo Salah things. Also, Jordan's other podcast interests are.....unique. But really you should just listen to find out where former Liverpool ace and 39-year-old Djibril Cisse has landed. That's right, he's still playing.
Editor's Note: This podcast was recorded before Steve Bruce departed Newcastle. We deny any responsibility.
As the international break draws to a close, Adam, Caleb, and Jordan discuss the purchase of Jordan's Newcastle United by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (plus Amanda Staveley). Jordan has dollar signs in his eyes while breaking down who could and should be Newcastle's first signings. Caleb updates us on the English Football League, Adam takes a look at the England and USMNT World Cup qualifying campaigns and goes off on some weird FC Dallas rant. And finally, we look ahead to the return of Premier League action this weekend.
Adam and Jordan dissect the last weekend of Premier League before the international break, including a Liverpool-Man City mega-clash and another impotent performance by Manchester United. Plus Xisco is out at Watford, but the Tinkerman is back! And there's the big news about Newcastle that has Jordan feeling a rare sensation: beams of hope.
It was a weekend full of weirdness! Unbeaten Chelsea became beaten Chelsea after they dusted off the old bus in their high-profile matchup with Man City. Bruno spectacularly squandered a late penalty as Aston Villa beat Man United at Old Trafford for the first time since 2009. Tottenham.....well, actually that was par for the course. But Adam, Caleb and Jordan are here to break it all down and look ahead to yet another great Premier League weekend to come.
Also here's a clip of video game Steve Bruce outrunning the entire Newcastle squad. (28) Steve Bruce 99 Pace On Fifa 22 🥵🥶😭 - YouTube
We're back! It turns out laptop computers are exactly like Tottenham's defending; it just suddenly stops working, randomly for no apparent reason. But we found a workaround, and return to bring Premier League analysis to you, our adoring fan. This week, the guys break down the very one-sided battle between Spurs and Chelsea and look ahead to another London derby, this time Arsenal going toe-to-toe with Spurs, at the Emirates for all the marbles. Loser gets relegated.
There was also the not-so-small matter of Adam's former life (Manchester United) totally coming back to haunt his current life (West Ham) in East London, aka the Mindf**k derby. Jordan is still unhappy with Steve Bruce and Caleb is still top of the Top Shelf Picks table. We know it took awhile, but this one's right out of the oven and ready for the gravy.
It's international break time, and you know what that means: depression, angst, a longing for a far distant feeling. But enough about Newcastle fans, let's dive into the week! The Premier League is just around the corner and Adam, Jordan and deep-south road trip taking Caleb look ahead to the rest of the season. They talk about their biggest surprise of the season so far, provide some amendments to previous predictions and get back to Top Shelf Picks for game week 4. There's also Transfer Deadline Day talk, USMNT talk, an England update, and South American shenanigans between Brazil and Argentina. Let's go eat some pies!
An international break, how terrible! But cheer up, Jordan and Adam are here this week to talk you through all the Premier League action and intrigue from Week 3. They dive into the epic clash that was Liverpool vs. Chelsea, including THAT red card. Mikel Arteta has taken Arsenal to new heights of comedy, while West Ham and Newcastle both suffer desperately disappointing draws. Manchester United manage to fight past the Wolves, and Adam has a few words for Graeme Souness.
It's game week 2 of Premier League action, and Romelu Lukaku is a grown ass man. No Jordan this week, as he had to make an emergency trip to Newcastle to, as he put it, "have a word" with Steve Bruce (not sure what that's about), but Adam and Caleb discuss how Chelsea's successful start to the season compounded the misery for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta. The Nuno revolution continues at Tottenham, while Liverpool win again and Norwich catch the wrong end of 11 angry Man City men. Caleb takes us through some fun Championship results, we see who's on top of the Top Shelf Picks table and look ahead to another exciting Premier League weekend.
Match Week 1 of the Premier League was an absolute blast, with all the goals coming hard and fast, except for the champions City and their new 100 million pound man. Adam, Jordan and Caleb break down all the big matches, including the first ever We Ate All the Pies Derby between West Ham and Newcastle. Caleb gives us the low down on Fulham and the Championship, plus tells us about his narrow escape from a pub full of Chelsea fans. And finally, it's a new game! The lads make their first ever Top Shelf Picks for the top matches in the upcoming weekend.
