It's finally here!! On the eve of the big kick off, Adam, Caleb and Jordan finish up their big season preview. The boys chat about why the Saints could go marching on into the Championship, that's so Spursy is alive and well, Watford's merry-go-round of pain, West Ham's hopes for an average finish this season, and the continuation of Wovles' Portuguese revolution. They also provide their predictions for this season, and listen until the end to find out why Adam isn't being a very good host.
If you missed any of the preview, Parts 1-3 are available now in the catalog. Go back and listen to the best new podcast all about English football!
It's Premier League week!!! And we're celebrating with two more previews. First, Adam, Jordan and Caleb ponder a potential title race between Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United. Jordan goes full English pessimist while sizing up Newcastle's hopes for the season, and we wonder whether Norwich can make their Premier League stay a more permanent move this time around. Also there's Olympics gold medal talk, some USMNT optimism, and we talk about that Messi fella.
It's Part 2 of our Premier League Preview and Adam, Caleb and Jordan start by taking a look at European champions Chelsea; then it's how good of a chance Patrick Vieira has at staying on with a new-look Crystal Palace; Rafa's big job to do at Everton; a Leeds United side looking around at how to improve from a very impressive 9th place finish; and finally why we all really like this Leicester City team. Plus there's some Scottish football, much ridiculing of Swansea's "new" logo, and of course *clears throat* THE ENGLISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE IS BAAACCKKKK!!!
It's time for our first ever big season preview!! Adam, Jordan and Caleb have just about recovered from the Euros in time to take a bite out of each Premier League team. Over the course of the next two weeks, they'll break down what each team is facing in the 2021-22 season, 5 teams at a time in four episode increments. The first preview of the week takes a look at an Arsenal squad with no Europe, an Aston Villa side potentially without Jack Grealish, new boys Brentford, the ever misfiring Brighton and a flaming out Burnley squad.
*sigh* It's not coming home. This week's We Ate All the Pies Euro.....2020? Bonus Pod starts a little differently as Adam, Jordan and Caleb recap a full weekend of international sports that culminated in a devastating loss for England (or emphatic win if you're Italian and/or Scottish, but this is a podcast about English football, so....yeah) on the dreaded penalties. Every aspect of the final is covered, and credit is given where it is due to a phenomenal Italian team and a hard-fought effort by England. There's also a bit of news about the future of the podcast at the end, so take it all in!
P.S.- This show was recorded after a Euro 2020 Final Watch Party, and Adam had, perhaps, had one too many. So enjoy that.
Please Note: This show was recorded on Sunday evening, prior to the news about the horrible series of racist messages sent to and about 3 England players in particular after the Final. While it is briefly referenced in the show, there will be more about that covered in the next episode. Remember: there is No Room for Racism in this beautiful game.
This week Adam and Jordan bring you updates from Euro.....2020? action together from the same location! First they dive into Premier League news: Rafa confirmed by Everton, Patrick Vieira returns to London, Nuno is appointed at Spurs, it's all kicking off. Then it's down to the Euro quarters where we see Spain once again defeat their opponents and their own worst habits to emerge victorious; Italy win the battle of the big dogs to leave people asking once again what's all this hype with Belgium about anyway; and England once again stare down a battle with a bunch of marauding Danes who have come to their shores to loot and plunder the sliverware. Que sera, sera, welcome to Euro semifinals week!
It's another round of Euro.....2020? action as we finally reach the knockout stage. Adam, Jordan and Caleb bid farewell to those we lost in the group stage (I think we'll miss you most of all, Scotland), ponder Welsh and Dutch fragility, praise the resiliency of the Czechs and the VAR-talians....sorry, the Italians, and take a look ahead to the match that makes you wanna Spice up your life, the England-Germany Euro rematch for the ages! We also talk through the opening weekend of the Prem and the Championship and provide some transfer updates.
P.S. -- You'll never guess who still hasn't found a new manager.
We're back! And welcome to our first ever Euro....2020? Bonus Pod episode. It's summertime and people are finally tired enough of this pandemic to put on an actual international football tournament. We'll talk the surprising (which probably shouldn't be so surprising) resurgence of Italy, the definitely not at all surprising 0-0 result between England and Scotland, and the chaos that is Group F between France, Germany and Portugal (oh, and you, Hungary.) Also Adam has a very important announcement to make: he's found a new club to support. So what are you waiting for? Tuck into this!
Welcome back for Part II of our Big End of Season Review! If you didn't listen to Part I, go back and listen and we continue on from Aston Villa and go straight into Leeds United and the rest of the top half of the 2020/21 Premier League table. We'll talk Tottenham, Arsenal, Man United and City, Chelsea, and of course, the one we're all waiting for, Everton. Also Adam has a big announcement at the end of this episode and we share some of our summer plans including the upcoming Euro....2020? podcast specials. Enjoy!
It's been such a big, long (though somehow shorter than normal) season, that we couldn't comfortably fit an entire review into one episode. So here's Part I of the Big End of Season Review, with special guest and future English Football League Championship correspondent, Fulham fan Caleb! He joins Adam and Jordan to go over what went right for some teams this year, what went wrong, plus he gives the best case possible for why Harry Kane should forget all those big money offers and take a pay cut to make Craven Cottage his new home.
