In Joshua 9, the people of Israel are deceived by a neighboring tribe. They made a very unwise choice. Why? It is very clear in this story that they did not consult the LORD. There is a wisdom that comes from God that is greater than any other. Seek after that wisdom.

After their victory over Jericho, the people of God moved on to Ai. However, instead of a victory, their soldiers were routed and they retreated. Why did God's blessing so quickly leave them? They compromised. They chose something other than God's best.

The journey of the nation of Israel in Joshua is an incredible picture of living the Christian life. They have now crossed the Jordan River on dry ground and are face to face with their first enemy--Jericho. By the end of the week the people were victorious. How can we be victorious as we follow Jesus?

In week 3 of our Joshua series, "The Good Life," we see God perform a powerful miracle for God's people. But perhaps more importantly for us, we see what God's people did before that miracle and afterward, to show the world, and future generations, what He had done.

The story of Rehab is an unlikely one. God used a foreigner & prostitute to accomplish His will. God loves us and has a plan for us even if we are imperfect; even if our faith is imperfect. God honors imperfect faith that is actively obedient.
