We’ve had such a wicked response to the release of Total Science & Flights festival sets last month that we’ve decided to do a December special, giving you lucky little sun-seekers a newly released festival recording during the run-up to Christmas.

First up is the HIGHLY lauded @mcSystem ft. @cleveland-watkiss – we’ve been yearning to get a podcast release on Mark for as long as we’ve had hair – so it gives us GREAT joy to be gracing your eardrums with his smasher from Ambra Night.

On the first week of Christmas, my true love gave to me… Mark System baby.

We’ve not had a good jungle fix on the podcast for some time, so we hit up Flight to see if we could bag up and publish her set from the Friday of the festival. She has obliged! Alongside MC Chickaboo and Double O, it’s not hard to put yourself back in that steaming gazebo stepping along to those lary snares and wavey basslines. Enjoy!

As the temperature starts to dip across Sardinia and beyond, we've decided to spend the coming months bringing you back to the warm bosom of San Teodoro by showcasing some of our favourite recordings from this year's festival.

Kicking us off are legends of the game - @Total-Science & GQ - who ripped Monday a new one and kicked off the whole week with this grenade.

It's the man who did the unthinkable and braved remixing one of the most well known D&B tracks of all time....and came out stomping.

The return of Unglued to the Island is a hugely welcome one, and we have the pleasure of him giving us a taste of what’s to come next week through this brilliant, and very fitting mix to launch the 2019 edition of Sun and Bass.

It’s been a little while since we’ve had our very own ArpXP step up to the controls for a SUNANDBASS podcast, but with his latest EP ‘Somewhere Else’ just screeched out the door here at the label, it felt like the right moment to get him to wheel up for us.

Long time Manchester crew member Dogger has been craftily building his production skills for a number of years now, learning in the wings from good friends and men of the moment, DRS, Chimpo & the likes. This year he finally sprung on the scene with his debut EP Broken Home, and I needn't really say how popular it's been.

Here is the opportunity to enhance 43 minutes of your day with a wonderfully diverse selection, showcasing his utter adoration of the genre and all it's lovely varied orifaces.

Longstanding Drum & Bass bromance Zero T & Steo grace us with a scorcher of a mix to accompany the ticket release this month.

Zero T is one of those producers, and DJs, that time after time finds that beautiful symbiosis of diverse drums, considered vocals.....and growl. It just means every release of his brings something new to the table, and the shape of his mixes does the same, taking you on a journey through the beautiful variety drum and bass is gracing us with at the moment. SUNANDBASS Podcast #83 comes from the ever-swelling roster of Brazillian talent - Simplification. Having released music across a number of labels in recent years (not least his collab with Patife for SUNANDBASS Recordings last year), it’s time to grace your headphones with a sack full of dubs from the Southern Hemisphere.

Simplification’s mix feels like the musical journey so many of us itch for as the clock hand swings past midnight and the deep growlers start gracing the steppers of Ambra Night.

@Philth steps up for SUNANDBASS Podcast #82, and this one’s personal. A long time fan and attendee of the festival, it always means a lot to him to play there, a place he often calls his ‘happy place’. In this mix he’s really showcased what SUNANDBASS, San Teodoro, and Sardinia means to him, something that is also so important to us.

In customary Philth style, he’s put together an epic mix chock full of both fresh and classics, so get stuck in – but before you do, here’s a few words from the man himself to explain the context of it all:

When I was asked to record the latest Sun and Bass podcast I didn’t want to just gather up some promos and smash out a mix, I wanted to think about the festival and what it means to me and choose tracks that reflect what it feels like to spend a week in San Teodoro digging out some of my all time favourite tunes as well as exciting new music. As I collected up my music I thought about the main locations at Sun and Bass and how they all have their own particular vibe, then I selected a folder of music for the Beach, the Ambra Night ‘Garden’ and ‘Gazebo’ stages, just like I would do for the festival. The mix progresses on this journey, starting with mellow warm Beach vibes; picking up the energy and the euphoric feeling dancing under the stars in the Garden; and finishing up with the dark rinseout tunes to get sweaty to in the Gazebo. The final track is the sunrise at La Cinta beach before battling up the hill to get home... Sun and Bass is a place where the crowd are always receptive to deeper flavours of DnB so that definitely had an influence on my selection, along with a healthy sprinkle of classics, music that reminds me of good times at the festival both on the decks and dancefloor. There are plenty of my own productions but I didn’t want it to just be a dubplate mix - there is too much good music going on across the scene to only play my tracks. The mix features forthcoming Philth and Phil:osophy tracks coming on Dispatch, Flexout, Integral and Peer Pressure in 2019 so listen carefully no tracklist no ID’s!

SUNANDBASS Podcast #81 comes from the Italian, London based DJ and producer, @mauoq.

Releasing music since 2011, with a consistent thread of atmospheric, bass heavy polyrhythmic vibes, his music has found itself a home and support from a wide range of taste makers such as Different Music, CX Digital, Flexout, Dispatch and his own Mauoq Music label. His is also known for his bi-monthly podcast where he showcases a whole range of flavours and styles.
