Our final SUNANDBASS Podcast of 2018 comes from @villem-mcleod alongside MC T.R.A.C

Now firmly established in the Drum & Bass tapestry as a pair of producers consistently operating at the highest level, their debut album ‘Playing The Changes’ saw the light of day this year and only served to showcase their musical vision even further.

With their work always showing a masterful blend of emotions and palette, their mix here is no different, immediately drawing you in with depth and setting the scene, but then quickly moving through the gears to take things up a notch. Lock into Villem & McLeod for their SUNANDBASS Podcast!

November’s SUNANDBASS Podcast comes from two of the most key members of the London Drum & Bass scene – and whose vision and dedication is now respected and revered to far further reaches.

Mantra and Double 0 have been both been consistently sharing their artistic vision within Drum & Bass and Jungle for many years, and since their first forays in Shoreditch in the early 2000s, the name Rupture has blossomed into one of the most go-to names in 160bpm + music.

Whether at their now infamous night at Corsica Studios, on their own label or with their own individual performances, their names guarantee a stamp of quality and a place that the real heads know they will always get what they’re looking for. They drop in here for 90 minutes of the most cutting edge beats – we’re very happy to have them gracing this month’s SUNANDBASS Podcast.

Our October Podcast is sure to top up the fading sunshine for you – this month coming from the excellent duo, Macca & Loz Contreras!

First teaming up back in 2013, this North-South connection have been spearheading the good times sunshine vibe movement since then. They recently released their album ‘Better World’ in 2017 which was chock full of hands in the air moments, whilst still keeping true to a held back and refined sound.

Their DJ sets are a good reflection of the vibe of their music and their abilities on the ones and twos as well, and their SUNANDBASS Podcast delivers this in spades, full of new and unheard music. Check out Macca & Loz Contreras!

SUNANDBASS Podcast #73 comes from the London based Production/DJ and Vocal Duo, @pault-edwardoberon

Responsible for one of 2016’s biggest tracks, the massive ‘Take My Breath Away’ alongside Serum, the duo have become one of V Recordings biggest double threats in the last couple of years, and are showing no signs of slowing down now.

With plenty more to come in the pipe for 2018 and beyond, keep an eye out for Paul T & Edward Oberon!

Hospital’s Bristol via Cambridge recruit @Hugh-Hardie steps up for SUNANDBASS Podcast #73.

Already building a strong following for his upfront soul music, the young talent has in the last couple of years become a firm pillar in the soulful Drum & Bass scene. His name stands for beautiful compositions that tick all the boxes for home listening whilst still retaining a certain dancefloor je na sais quoi.

Currently busy in the studio (when not on busting moves on his board), Hugh has kindly taken the time to put together our latest Podcast, and has chocked it full of exclusives from both his peers and himself. Dig in!

New month, new podcast. SUNANDBASS Podcast #71 comes from @DJNeptune.

Known for releases on labels such as Astrophonica, Droppin' Science, Inperspective, Bassbin and Hospital to name a few, Neptune’s music combines funky rhythms and emotive strings with traditional sampling techniques and technological basslines.

Neptune is one half of the dynamic duo Fracture & Neptune, who set up Astrophonica in the early 2000s to showcase their visions of what the music was and what they thought it could become. It is now home to daring artists who share that same flair for rhythm and space, enjoy risk-taking and a have thirst for the new.

Last summer, Neptune played his maiden set at SUNANDBASS and tore down the dancefloor with his neurofunk sounds of the late ‘90s. This mix continues in that vein, showcasing some of the deeper aspects of said genre while dropping a few bangers from the time too, of course. Much like fine wine, these vintage records need to breathe; the mixes are long and the tunes are given space to do justice to the time that Drum and Bass was arguably at its peak. So please enjoy!
