Sunday Rewind

In this episode of Sunday Rewind, Pastor Robby explores Golgotha, the place of the skull, examining where Jesus was crucified and why that location appears so deliberately throughout Scripture. Drawing from all four Gospels and key moments in the Old Testament, this episode traces the biblical background, historical setting, and theological significance tied to this pivotal place in the story of redemption.

Pastor Robby expands on Sunday's message from John 14 by digging deeper into the exclusive claim Jesus makes when He says, "I am the way and the truth and the life." Robby introduces the Roadrunner Tactic; an apologetics approach that uses questions to expose self-refuting statements. Through practical examples and real-world conversations, he equips listeners to lovingly and logically challenge false ideas while standing firm on biblical truth.

This week on Sunday Rewind, we're doing something a little different... sharing the full audio from Week 1 of Pastor Robby's new Wednesday night class, Why Does God Allow Evil? In this thought-provoking session, Pastor Robby begins unpacking one of the most difficult questions in the Christian faith with clarity, compassion, and biblical insight. If you haven't joined the class yet, this is your chance to catch up and dive in.

In this week's Sunday Rewind, Pastor Robby dives deeper into John 12, reflecting on Mary's extravagant worship of Jesus and contrasting it with Judas' selfish response. Building on Sunday's message, he unpacks the often-overlooked spiritual discipline of secrecy; doing good without needing to be seen. Drawing from Jesus' teaching in Matthew 6, Robby challenges us to give, pray, and fast in private, trusting that God sees and rewards what's done in secret. In a culture obsessed with self-promotion, what would it look like to live differently?

Drawing from archaeology, ossuary discoveries, and cultural context, he explains how this phrase points not to harshness, but to a deeper call to true discipleship. Robby also revisits the ossuary of Caiaphas and its significance in validating scripture.

Niemela's research, this episode shows how proper observation can protect us from misunderstanding the text and strengthen our confidence in scripture.
