In Season One, Damesha and Alli tackle a pervasive topic that permeates social media and resonates with clients, friends, and family alike: narcissism. They shared how narcissistic abuse is a form of emotional and psychological abuse that can have devastating effects on the lives of its victims.
Narcissistic abuse is perpetrated by individuals who have a personality disorder characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance, a lack of empathy for others, and a constant need for admiration and attention.
The effects of narcissistic abuse can be both immediate and long-lasting. Initially, victims may experience confusion, anxiety, and a sense of being overwhelmed. They may struggle to comprehend what is happening to them, as the behavior of the narcissist can be unpredictable and inconsistent. The victim may also feel isolated and alone, as the narcissist may attempt to control their access to social support networks.
