2023 (officially) starts right now! The last couple of weeks have been great but now we are back where we belong. Watching a brand new horror film at the cinema. Hopefully M3GAN can start this new year right and continue this fantastic run we’ve been on for a while now. In the news we get to finally bring the announcement of Season 3 of Chucky which feels us with lots of joy. Happy new year! 2023 is upon us and to kick off the new year we are checking out one of the few horror films that dropped late last year that we didn’t get to in time. Deadstream seems right up our alley with its screenlife take on haunted houses and disgraced YouTubers and seems at home on Shudder. Before closing out the year in style next week we decided to finally chat some more about our good friend Wes Craven and his return to the franchise that made him. This film does meta horror before it was all the rage and incorporates so many new elements into the franchise including a new look Freddy and the return of our leading lady. We discuss and then rank this film into our growing list and look back on how it paved the way for future films to achieve in the genre. Elsewhere this week; Infinity Pool gets a crazy first trailer and immediately becomes one of our most anticipated films of 2023. And ending the show Matt has replayed The Last of Us Part 1 and gives some spoiler free thoughts in anticipation of the TV show’s imminent debut.

Making a welcome return to the cinema we are seeing pretty much the opposite of what we saw last week in Bones and All. Sold as a Romantic Cannibal Road film; we were pretty interested to see what the hell this film was. And boy were we not ready. This film is full of surprises and memorable moments that horror films need to be aware of. Ending the show we discuss the Chucky Season 2 finale and after a disappointing return whether it went out on a high and where does the show go from here.

Art the Clown has already established himself firmly within the horror genre as a modern day horror icon and it’s about time he returns for more kills and good times. We were disappointed we couldn't watch this at FrightFest but are glad it’s finally time to see whether this follow up can deliver a sequel that feels like a long time in the making. The run time is a scary one though so we may need some good kills and laughs from Art to enjoy this one. Ending the show Mike gives his closing thoughts on the finale of The Walking Dead and that even in the end; this show will never truly die.

After looking forward to this one for many months it’s finally time to see if lightning can strike twice for Ti West. He already released one of our favourite horror films of the year in X and now he's already returning with a prequel that promises a very different style of horror film. Can he do the unthinkable and release two of the best horror films in the same calendar year? It would be a truly unprecedented feat. Netflix has given us some of the best and worst TV of the year so far so we really hope that this one is more Stranger Things than Resident Evil. With Guillermo del Toro presenting and a very packed list of directors and actors to boot; Cabinet of Curiosities certainly had our attention and we give a breakdown of all 8 episodes/short films and whether this is a must watch or an avoid for horror fans.
