With our long overdue return to FrightFest just a mere few days away with just about find the time to squeeze in a streaming service film we’ve wanted to check out for a few weeks now. Prey is the 2nd Predator film we have now covered for the podcast and after really enjoying 2018’s The Predator; here’s hoping this latest entry can give us some more fun mindless action like the last entry did so well. Elsewhere this week; The Black Phone will probably get a sequel and we might be getting the best case scenario. The new Hellraiser has been rated and surely must be coming in the next few months. And ending the show Mike praises The Northman once again after a recent rewatch and we look ahead to the UK’s biggest horror film festival’s return.

Some thought it would never happen. The day has finally arrived. The UK finally gets blessed with the release of Jordan Peele’s 3rd film and we have actually seen Nope. Now comes the fun part where we actually get to talk about it. Surely after all the hype and waiting it was worth the wait? This podcast might shock you. Elsewhere this week: Saw returns next year and we couldn’t be less enthusiastic if we tried. Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities gets a date and looks fantastic. And ending the show Matt has now finished The Leftovers and the only way to fill the void is by rewatching his favourite show of all time.

After doing two episodes on Netflix tv shows recently which worked out fantastically well; we are back to the streaming service once again. However we are sadly not here to talk about Stranger Things again but actually the first ever live action tv series of one of our favourite horror franchises ever. We could talk about Resident Evil for days but we try to keep the conversation to this new adaptation and whether or not it does the name justice. You’ll definitely want to hear our recommendation before watching this one. Elsewhere this week; Ti West returns to cinemas this year with Pearl. And Shudder announced the latest instalment of the VHS franchise for later this year. Ending this week’s show we briefly discuss rewatching one of the best horrors of 2022 so far and Matt hypes up the tv show he’s been watching recently that’s his new favourite thing.

As we look to fill the weeks before a certain new horror film gets its UK release; what better time to watch yet another film in our most beloved Ranking Wes Craven series. We are into the 90’s now with a film that has had a huge cult following over the years and with good reason. The People Under the Stairs blends social commentary with goofy comedy in ways that most films could only dream of. And it didn’t get screwed by studio intervention or ratings board cuts. Find out where we rank it and see just how upset it makes you! We also look ahead to what’s next in this series as the return of Frederick looms nearby.

After all the strangeness that we got with Cronenberg last week; we are back with a much easier film to discuss. Watcher is about a woman who believes someone is watching them. And that’s pretty much it. No surgery sex or kids eating plastic to chat about this week I’m afraid. Maybe this week we won’t lose our minds though the current heatwave isn't helping. We hope you’re ready for things to get weird. David Cronenberg is back and inevitably this chat won’t be like our usual film discussions much like how David’s films aren't like typical films. Things are gonna get strange and with anything Cronenberg; you've either gotta get with it or move on. And boy are we glad to have this amazing man back with a new film to talk about. There certainly won’t be another conversation we have this year quite like this one. Elsewhere this week, The Duffer Brothers have signed a Flanagan-eque deal with Netflix and we know about a whole host of new projects that will follow after the conclusion of Stranger Things. And finally Matt continues to question the sanity of Mike and other long suffering The Walking Dead fans with a new perspective.
