April 27, 2022#SHB295 - Choose or DieAfter such great heights last week of a brand new and incredible horror film at the cinema we are sadly back to the norm of finding the best on demand films to watch and next up is Choose or Die. We’ve actually wanted to see this one for a while after hearing about its cool premise of a retro video game come to life and hoped it would merge gaming and horror together like we so desperately want a film to pull off. Is this a worthy Netflix horror to stand alongside the Fear Street trilogy or another film on the service to avoid? Let’s find out. Also this week; we get very excited for Alex Garland’s Men next month. David Cronenberg’s return to horror gets a release date. And finally Matt can’t get over how perfect Last Night in Soho is and Mike continues to punish himself by watching The Walking Dead.Choose or Die is available on Netflix worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. March 30, 2022#SHB291 - The Serpent and the Rainbow (Ranking Wes Craven)Continuing our ongoing Ranking Wes Craven series is another first time viewing for both of us in the form of The Serpent and the Rainbow. Perhaps the least talked about horror film in Wes Craven’s entire filmography; we discuss the strange and peculiar decisions made in this film as we approach the end of Craven’s 80’s films very soon. Also we of course add it to our overall ranking which now stands at a whopping 12 films. March 23, 2022#SHB290 - XBack at the cinema to discuss a brand new original horror film, exactly where we belong. This week we’re chatting about the long awaited return of Ti West to the horror genre and his latest horror flick; X. Where a group of indie filmmakers making a porno end up in a horrible scenario. Sounds like a classic set up to us but does the film deliver? We certainly enjoyed talking about this one. Elsewhere this week; Scream 6 has a date and it is sooner than expected. Netflix’s Resident Evil TV series also gets dated for this summer. And Mike watched some classic horror in 4K this week. March 16, 2022#SHB289 - FreshBefore we make our long awaited return to the cinema next week we are discussing a brand new horror that seems to have flown under the radar thus far. Fresh is shrouded in secrecy due to wanting to avoid spoilers (which we totally understand) but perhaps they’ve done too good of a job as this is one horror fans need to be aware of. We give our verdict on one of the surprises of 2022 so far. Elsewhere this week; Rob Zombie’s The Munsters is officially a PG film which is certainly something to talk about. And we get hyped for Ti West’s return to both horror and the big screen. March 09, 2022#SHB288 - The BatmanTaking a quick break from new horror this week, we are however still discussing an incredibly dark and gritty film in the form of the latest appearance of The Batman. With a fantastic new lead actor and a super underrated director at the helm; we were very excited to see the most grim Gotham we’ve seen on the big screen so far. We give our verdict on the film and focus on the elements horror fans will enjoy such as a fantastic version of the riddler that would be more suited to a Saw film than a superhero one. Elsewhere this week; Fede Alvarez gets yet another new project that we hope actually happens. And Chucky comes to bluray in the UK very soon. The Batman is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]Leave us a voicemail on Skype; just search ‘Super Horror Bros’**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. March 02, 2022#SHB287 - HellbenderAfter Netflix has kept us busy in recent weeks we are now going back to our old favourite in Shudder for the latest horror film for discussion; Hellbender. Made by and starring the real life Adams family; this film tells the story of a strong mother and daughter bond with some witchcraft thrown in for good measure. What did we make of this film that boasts one of the most unique production stories of any film we’ve ever covered? Find out now. Elsewhere this week; The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is getting a 4K release later this year but will that take away some of the classic’s charm? And we end the show by talking about rewatching our favourite horror film of 2021 and why it’s such a special piece of filmmaking. February 23, 2022#SHB286 - Texas Chainsaw MassacreAfter already seeing the return of such horror icons as Ghostface, Chucky and Michael Myers in recent months, now is the time for old boy Leatherface to make his glorious return; to the small screen. Netflix are forcing the big guy to come out of retirement and fight his classic arch nemesis of Sally even though a man of his age should just be chilling by the fireplace at this point. This franchise has been pretty unwatchable for at least a couple of decades now so can this finally turn the tide? Let’s find out! Elsewhere this week; Stranger Things finally dates season 4 as well as a huge announcement about season 5. We should be getting A Quiet Place Part 3 but don’t expect it anytime soon. And we rant about not accepting mediocre video game adaptations based upon some of the best stories ever told in the medium.Texas Chainsaw Massacre is available on Netflix worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]Leave us a voicemail on Skype; just search ‘Super Horror Bros’**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice.
