Dashcam is the follow up from the guys who made the breakout pandemic hit Host and are looking to follow up with another found footage thrill ride. We also have always been fascinated by dashcam footage so had high hopes for this one. Let’s find out if it was worth the wait. Following on from our 300th show we are back where we belong and that is of course covering cinema horror. The Black Phone has been on our radar for a while as we actually read the short story this film is based upon years ago and now we get to see how this adaptation fares for one of favourite authors' more interesting little stories. Before the big show arrives we actually have the small matter of one of our most anticipated horror films of the year to discuss. Alex Garland’s two previous films are two of the greatest sci-fi films ever made and now he’s transitioning to horror in what looks to be another unique and original horror film courtesy of A24. Men had an interesting teaser followed up by a fascinating full trailer and we give our verdict on if this hangs with the best of British horror we’ve seen in recent years. As we approach some very exciting weeks for the podcast with a massive tv show and a personal favourite director returning soon; this week sees us once again watch a film for the first time from the man who made us fall in love with horror. Shocker might be Wes Craven’s most under the radar film and having now seen it; we have plenty to say about Wes’s most original film since A Nightmare On Elm Street. After a needed week off last week due to a lack of working vocal chords; we are back discussing the latest Stehpen King adaptation to get a modern rework. Firestarter isn’t the most beloved of King films or books around but does have its fans and maybe with not the most appreciated film adaptation in the past, we could see a better modern version like what we got with the incredible IT. Maybe that's just us being too optimistic though. Elsewhere this week; Scream 6 gets some big casting news. American Horror Stories returns very soon. Black Mirror may finally be coming back after an already 3 year hiatus. After such great heights last week of a brand new and incredible horror film at the cinema we are sadly back to the norm of finding the best on demand films to watch and next up is Choose or Die. We’ve actually wanted to see this one for a while after hearing about its cool premise of a retro video game come to life and hoped it would merge gaming and horror together like we so desperately want a film to pull off. Is this a worthy Netflix horror to stand alongside the Fear Street trilogy or another film on the service to avoid? Let’s find out.
