August 30, 2023 SuperCoach Edge 2023 | Round 24 Season Finale | Mad Monday
Well, that’s a wrap! Season 2023 comes to a close. It was a season that will go down as one of the most difficult of recent times, with seemingly more injuries than normal and of course the rate of suspensions going through the roof courtesy of the AFL’s contentious dangerous tackle throwing a further spanner in the works.

But we made it!

In this season finale episode, we review the season that was; how our own teams finished up, assessing the best and worst trades we made across the season and our key learning and takeaways heading into next season. We then turn our attention to what presents us in 2024, pinpointing a handful of players we’re already looking at as potential starting picks.

Thanks to everyone that has tuned in throughout the year, and we'll see you all in 2024 to do it all again!

August 14, 2023 SuperCoach Edge 2023 | Round 22 Review | Yibbida Yibbida, Libba
With just two weeks remaining in the SC season, we can see the finish line in sight - and it’s a welcome sight for many, especially owners of Libba who was concussed on a score of just 20. To make matters worse he will miss this coming round due to concussion protocols, so there is no respite - and Liam knows all too well about that not only owning him, but also captaining him!

We chat best POD options to help win your Prelims, oh, and Liam loses his marbles as delirium well and truly sets in after what has been a long season. Check out the timecode below for mass hilarity! 😂

August 08, 2023 SuperCoach Edge 2023 | Round 21 Review | Daic-OUT ft. SuperCoach with DR!
We were naive to think we’d travel the remainder of the season without another major injury, weren’t we. It’d been a fair while between drinks, as it were, and drinks are now well and truly on tap with Little Nicky Daicos ruled out for 6 weeks with a fracture in his knee. Those with a trade can count their blessings, whilst those without them will be having to rely on the bench warmers for cover… if you have any of note… or any at all!

It’s definitely thrown the cat amongst the Magpies with this news, but we’ll use a portion of this episode to run through the most notable replacements for Daicos for those of you fortunate enough to have a trade up your sleeve.

We’ll also be joined by the legend that is DR from SuperCoach with DR, who is one of the nicest blokes in the SC community and always a joy to have on to chat all things SuperCoach. We’ll tap into how he is going to cover Daicos, and chat about his key learnings from SC in 2023 and gauge his ideas for implementing changes to the game for 2024 and beyond.

August 02, 2023 SuperCoach Edge 2023 | Round 20 Review | The English Lesson ft. Joe of Centre Bounce!
Lessons were learnt on the weekend. It was a much needed English lesson for those owners with the big Dog, proving he is virtually a perma vice-captain option nearly every week, as he once again punched out a sizeable score to the tune of 163, giving a 5 round average of 145.4. The lesson here? Don't doubt English by bypassing him with the VC!

Other lessons? Ross the Boss can't be trusted, and Errol Gulden proves doubters wrong yet again!

But with the finish line for SC in 2023 in sight with a month remaining, this episode marks the first of more to come where we’ll be featuring a special guest. And we kick things off with one of our good friends in Joe from Centre Bounce joining us! Looking forward to chatting to him later in the episode to pick his brain about not only insights for this coming round, but also projecting forward to SC 2024 and what presents us on the horizon!

July 25, 2023 SuperCoach Edge 2023 | Round 19 Review | SicDawg to the Moon!
It was largely an uneventful round... well, that is, in comparison to the big news about Tom "Dolla" Browne departing his post at Channel 7. It's a sad day - really only because we'll no longer get to dine out on his utterly ridiculous tweets. Fare-thee-well!

But on a SC front, we had a couple more injuries BUT we also had SicDawg send owners to the MOOOON! Glorious scenes - particularly for Damo who was helped by Sicily to the 19th highest score for the round!

As trades dwindle we chat what to do with Walsh, the strategies behind holding him or moving him on and much more!

July 18, 2023 SuperCoach Edge 2023 | Round 18 Review | Stuck With a Donut or Two
We’ve had horror rounds before, but this was such a haunting tale to the level that not even Stephen King could’ve produced. We hoped it was all just a bad dream, but with every passing day from early in the week it got worse and worse!

To play on the words of the catchy tune "Stuck in the Middle with You" it was truly: "Injuries to the left of me, omissions to the right, here I am, stuck with a donut or two!"

July 11, 2023 SuperCoach Edge 2023 | Round 17 Review | Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again?
Of course the big news heading into the round was the Pink Sweaty Pig, Clarry Oliver, once again being put out to pasture for a further 3-4 weeks after a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury. It left us all asking: "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again?"

But in more pleasing news that really did sneak up on all of us “like a librarian”, we had our last round of DPP additions, which saw a couple of big names miss out yet again, but also a couple of big names be given some handy DPP status for the run home.

July 04, 2023 SuperCoach Edge 2023 | Round 16 Review | I Think I’ve Seen This Film Before...
It was like a breath of fresh air, with many enjoying a high scoring week courtesy of most premos exceeding expectations and projections across the board - led by Merrett’s weekly high of 168. Many (like both of us) enjoyed Neale’s 143 with the VC, which we promptly locked in, and set the tone for the rest of the round.

It’s a round that didn’t come without it’s usual issues though, with Yeo ruled out heading into the weekend with yet another injury. And we pondered as to how long it would take for the other walking injury in Nat Fyfe to be ruled out - well, it didn’t take long, with him being subbed out of the weekend’s game and news now that he has re-injured his planta fascia ailment he suffered earlier in the year. We warned all of you to stay away from him - and we hope you listened! Liam, I know you were awfully tempted by him! ;)
