On a hiking trip in Russia's Ural Mountains in 1959, nine mountaineers tore their way out of their tent in the middle of the night and went running into the wilderness, half-clothed and without shoes. By morning, they were all dead — some from hypothermia, others from unexplained catastrophic injuries.
