Supernatural Opinions

KJ, Meredith, Jenn, and Moira are breaking the fourth wall in this one to talk about Blazing Saddles and make babytalk at Dean Winchester being a somewhat normal and productive member of society. Meredith makes things about Phantom of the Opera in her mythology segment, and Jenn and KJ slander Matt Damon.
CW Episode Description: Sam and Dean make a trip to Hollywood to investigate the death of one of the actors on a horror film set after rumors begin that he was killed by a ghost. They discover the death was a publicity hoax but when the executive producer and a studio executive are killed, Sam and Dean realize they are dealing with a haunted set. Gary Cole guest stars as Brad Redding, one of the stars of the horror film.

KJ, Meredith, and Moira are forced to watch helplessly as a seemingly easy case turns into emotional heartbreak for Sam (and narrowly physical heart-loss for the Brothers Winchester). It's an episode that relies on Jensen and Jared getting emotional and looking hot, because as soon as KJ stopped analyzing The Sex Scene, and wondering how Madison affords her massive home, they promptly forgot the “villain” of the episode-twice-despite Meredith having sympathy for the guy.
CW Episode Description: After investigating the death of a lawyer (guest star Nate Quinlan) who appeared to have been killed by a wild animal, Sam and Dean realize they are tracking a werewolf. Sam is immediately attracted to the lawyer's secretary Madison (guest star Emmanuelle Vaugier) and when it seems as if Madison will be the werewolf's next victim, Sam offers to stay overnight to protect her. Dean heads out to hunt the animal and is stunned by what he finds.

Back together for a second week in a row, KJ, Meredith, Nick, and Audrey are on a more serious case. Sam and Dean are racing against the clock to solve a haunting before the night is through. Which means some speedy grave digging, befriending Molly who just wants to find her husband, and going through a dead couple’s treasured memories.
CW Episode Description: While driving down a deserted road, Sam and Dean are startled after a bloody woman named Molly (guest star Helfer) bolts out in front of the Impala screaming for help from the crazy farmer (guest star) who is chasing her. Sam and Dean investigate and discover the man is actually an angry spirit who kills one person the same time every year and has decided Molly will be his next victim.

KJ, Meredith, Nick, and Audrey are joining the Winchesters on one of their WEIRDER cases. You know, your typical haunted-campus-alien-abduction-alligator-in-the-sewer gig. This episode has some good stuff- hostile!narration by Sam and Dean, peak Parental!Bobby, an ethics and morality professor who gets what’s coming to him, Richard Speight Jr.! Meredith’s mythology section includes famous tricksters like Loki, Maui, and Bugs Bunny, and KJ goes down a seriously unnecessary rabbithole re: famous conjoined twins The Bunker Brothers. Plus serious sibling energy from IRL siblings Meredith and Audrey in this episode where Sam and Dean are sibling-feuding to the max.
CW Episode Description: Sam and Dean call upon their family friend and fellow hunter Bobby (guest star Jim Beaver) for help after they are stumped by violent and unexplainable happenings on a local college campus. Bobby arrives with a suspicion as to the culprit behind the killing spree and the brothers' escalating feud.

KJ tries to encapsulate the horror of Supernatural’s series finale with a slide show presentation. Faith, first-time-watcher of Supernatural (and designer of our logo AND KJ’s infamous bestie), tries to process the truly unbelievable events being described. And we all wonder…how did the writers think this was fine? How did we get here? Be warned for full spoilers on this one! KJ is spilling all the tea (and hopefully having a laugh about it all). KJ is joined by Meredith, Vail, and Jaden as Sam and Dean struggle to retrace Sam’s steps when he turns up missing with no memory. Meredith has COVID in this one but she delivers a mythology section that sparks an in-depth conversation on belief. KJ quizzes gen-z guests Vail and Jaden on early cell phone technology circa 2006/2007. And KJ examines their double standard on power dynamics with the return of Meg.

KJ has accidentally assembled a panel of guests with more experience with religion and faith than their own-Meredith, Jenn, and Vail are all ready to weigh in on this episode of Supernatural where Sam and Dean are at odds regarding belief. Sam delivers news that devastates us all this week-there are no unicorns in Supernatural…yet. Meredith has a segment on seances, Vail weighs in on the scoring of the episode, and Jenn gets KJ’s brain going with just minutes to spare. And as always…we’re blaming John Winchester for all of this.
CW Episode Description: Sam and Dean investigate the murders of several people by individuals who claim they were visited by an angel and were carrying out God's will. After the brothers learn those murdered were actually guilty of secret crimes, Sam begins to believe this angel really does exist, but Dean stands firm on the fact a demon is behind the slayings - until he sees something even he can't explain.

Meredith is gone this week, but KJ is joined by Frances and Emmie to talk about Sam and Dean’s trip to Emmie’s home state of Connecticut (The Nutmeg State). Frances raises some concerns for Tyler’s mental health, KJ tackles pool safety, Emmie is obsessed with Sam’s brown jacket, and KJ is scandalized by a customer service failure turned luggage crime-we’re not sure why Susan’s motel is failing but her customer service practices are definitely not helping. There’s too many dolls in this one and a little girl absolutely pays the price.
CW Episode Description: Sam and Dean investigate two strange deaths at a small Connecticut inn run by a single mom (guest star Annie Wersching) whose young daughter (guest star Matreya Fedor) plays with an imaginary friend. The brothers find evidence of voodoo around the inn, but soon realize the little girl's imaginary friend may in fact be a demon who is killing the townspeople.
