A Rolling Fork man died after his vehicle went into Lake George in Yazoo County on Saturday. 19-year-old Kyeternity Moore managed to call police after the accident, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. First responders found the car, but had to do a grid search of the area to find Moore. Plus, a driver got into an accident at Gordon's Creek on Saturday just before 8 a.m., and their vehicle ended up partially submerged in a creek in Hattiesburg. The car was partially submerged in the water beneath the bridge, but the driver was able to escape before police and firefighters arrived.

Durant police are looking for an armed robber. The unidentified suspect pulled a gun on an individual who was using the ATM at the Renasant Bank on Depot Street before 5:30 a.m. on Friday. After demanding cash, the suspect ordered the victim to drive him to a certain location, then ordered the victim to get out of the vehicle and drove away. Plus, the MBI is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Natchez. Officers were serving a warrant on South Canal Road on Sunday when the suspect displayed a firearm, resulting in an exchange of gunfire with police. The as-yet-unidentified suspect received critical injuries, but none of the officers involved were hurt.

It was another wild weekend of college baseball. Mississippi State found a much-needed series win over No. 24 Ole Miss to keep their postseason hopes alive. Southern Miss was down early in all three games against Louisiana but managed to win every one. The Golden Eagles have now won 12 straight. Plus, the Mississippi High School Activities Association teamed up with the New Orleans Saints to launch girls flag football as a sanctioned high school sport this year. The inaugural season wrapped up with a State Championship. St. Martin defeated George County, 18-0.

The person said to be behind a deadly Cinco de Mayo shooting in Gulfport turned himself in to police over the weekend. 25-year-old Jordan Tyrik Johnson is now in custody after the shooting outside Azteca’s Restaurant and Cantina took the life of 34-year-old Christopher Skinner. He's charged with first-degree murder. Plus, Mississippi Senator Thad Cochran's son is facing several charges after his arrest on May 9 by police in Madison. Thaddeus Clayton Cochran allegedly stalked and harassed a resident in the Cypress Lake subdivision and became belligerent towards officers who were called to investigate. The son of the late Senator is charged with stalking, trespassing, and disorderly conduct.

Meridian native Jamal Roberts continued to impress the American Idol judges, moving into the Top 5 on Sunday night. The elementary school PE teacher and father of three sang two songs during the "Disney Night" themed Mother's Day episode, "Go the Distance" from the film Hercules, and Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come." The Top 5 will be back on stage Monday night at 7 Central time on ABC. Only three will advance to the season finale on Sunday, May 18.
