This week we welcomed Owner Cody Martin and Head Brewer "Beef" Laughman from Martin House Brewing Company, our celebrated neighbor here in Fort Worth, Texas. Cody and his partners opened the brewery in 2012 with 4 core brews in a beautiful location just east of downtown right on the Trinity River. Martin House quickly grew with innovative brews and has now established an iconic reputation as THE brewery willing to push the limits in the brewing industry. With partnerships with brands such as Best Maid for their pickle beer, they've maneuvered the ever-changing industry skillfully and are poised for a long run in an uncertain future.

This week we are excited to finally have Owner & Head Brewer Bobby Diaz of our DFW neighbor ODD Muse Brewing Company (Farmers Branch, TX). Odd Muse is a fantastic Craft Brewery in the North Dallas area creating some of the most delicious juice in DFW with some silky Hazy Boys with some slick branding. This week we welcomed Dallas Stars NHL Legend Marty Turco, Owner of Kingsville Brewery (Kingsville, Ontario). Most people know Marty Turco for his 127 NCAA wins and three NHL All-Star appearances. But today, he’s making a different kind of history in the craft beer world. He joined us live to discuss the founding of Kingsville Brewery and what it takes to scale a Canadian brand in the Texas market. It’s a fascinating look at how the discipline of pro sports translates to the highly competitive world of craft beer production and distribution.

It was fantastic to get Marty's perspective on the North American Craft Beer landscape and his approach on trading the crease for delving into the brewing industry. It was a blast and can't thank Marty enough for sharing some of his most epic stories with everyone in the taproom!

This week we welcomed the team from legendary Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, in house to chat all things Sierra Nevada. Nestled in Chico, California, the passion project of industry legend Ken Grossman quickly became and has continued to persist as the standard bearer in the industry for quality and consistency. Having Nick & Jordan in house to discuss this industry powerhouse was so much fun and to hear the detailed stories of both Ken Grossman as an owner and the brand itself. This was a fantastic episode and the level of attention to detail from an industry giant was wildly impressive. This week we welcomed beloved Local Brewery Owner & Advanced Cicerone Collin Zreet for an incredibly unique Belgian Beer Tasting and food pairing! This was the first ticketed tasting of it's kind and helluva great time with fabled brews including Cantillon Gueuze, Tilquin Quetsche, Trappist Westmalle Tripel, Brasserie de Blaugies La Vermontoise with an perfectly crafted assortment of cheeses, fruits, nuts & other delicate flavor pairings provided by Priory Hospitality. It was a sellout event and a fantastic night here in the taproom! This was a one-off event that we weren't even going to record but decided to set up the gear at the last minute, so please excuse the audio chaos that it was, but it is still a worthy listen.

This week we welcomed the Owner Brad Farbstein of Real Ale Brewing Company, from Blanco, Texas. This one was rescheduled from the last spring and it was an absolute blast hanging out with the Texas OG from the Hill Country! It was a treat for the entire taproom to get the story from the man himself as Brad walked us through the early days of basement brewing in downtown Blanco to the growth that necessitated the beautiful brewery they enjoy now. We also dove into the launch of Real Spirits, their "grain-to-glass" distilling philosophy, and what it takes to navigate the modern distribution landscape while staying true to your roots.

This week we welcomed Chris Lewis and Matt Ellis from TUPPS Brewing, McKinney, Texas. TUPPS has quickly grown from home brewing into one of the biggest Craft Beer producers in the great state of Texas. With a beautiful new (and very large) brewery in McKinney, they've planted their flag in that area as THE go-to brand with a space that can execute a multitude of events. It was impressive to hear their story and how they weathered the early days of a brewery with no air-conditioning to upgrading to one of the most impressive, state-of-the-art breweries in Texas.

This week we welcomed the Owner Seth Morgan of Denton County Brewing Company, from up north in Denton, Texas. It was a treat to get Seth in house to chat about his background and journey to opening a Craft Brewery in his beloved Denton. It was an interesting, and what feels like what's an almost repetitive, story of overcoming obstacles with construction issues, problems dealing with code requirements presented by the city, and all the other unforeseen pitfalls of getting a brewery off the ground, well before the first brew ever gets mashed in. We had a blast and we certainly look forward to the next batch of Night Witch!

This week we welcomed the OG, the Godfather of North Texas brewing, the Local Legend, Owner & Founder Fritz Rahr of Rahr & Sons Brewing Company, right down the road here in Fort Worth, Texas, way back in 2004! It was a great night for our Supplier Spotlight and certainly a great night at the Cellar. The place was packed with local brewers, OG Craft Beer nerds, and locals at large that just wanted to hear Fritz' story. This was a great episode and Fritz had so many incredible stories that we really didn't get in any of the questions we normally ask during a normal episode of the podcast. It was a blast to get to hear from the pioneer of the NTX Craft Beer scene what the journey has been like so far and what he sees as the future of the Craft Beer industry.

A fun side note: our host, Shawn Howell was the daytime beertender at the old Flying Saucer location on 4th Street in downtown Fort Worth many moons ago when Fritz rolled in with some of his homebrew and pledged that he'd be opening a brewery in Fort Worth. It's been quite a ride for both Shawn and Fritz over the years, and tonight was a special one to be able to share these stories of a Craft Beer community that has grown so much over the years.
