Special Guest, Jamey Glasnovic, is an atypical, laid-back adventure enthusiast. Jamey is motivated by his profound belief in the power of landscape. A sense of place and a desire to understand the connection all humans have to their surroundings are what compel Jamey to explore foreign cultures and unfamiliar terrain. In fact, Jamey contends that a dive bar in Kathmandu or Dar es Salaam counts as a good day out. Jamey shares from his third book, Everything Is Poa: One Man’s Search for Peace and Purpose in East Africa. (Poa means “good” in Swahili.) Jamey discusses the misadventures on his bicycle along with the warm and generous people he met along the way.

Ecotherapy focuses on transforming human relationship to the natural world. By integrating art and nature, Cynthia Rodriguez is re-experiencing a personal connection with nature. Cynthia was born and raised in New York City where she attended the Highschool of Art & Design. She spent most of her youth around the art scene including Greenwich Village and Museum Mile. Since moving to Pennsylvania, she has established herself as a professional mixed media and performance artist and has been the sole proprietor of The Underworld Art Studio since 1999. Dennis is a former member of Improvolution in New York, the past Artistic Director of Philemon Productions in New Jersey, and previous part Owner and Creative Consultant for New Jersey Public Theater. He is a winner of both Scranton Story Slam and Lancaster Story Slam and is Executive Director of Lehigh Valley Story Slam. He has acted in, produced, or directed over eighty productions and has written three plays. Earlier this year, Dennis released his first novel, A Family’s Journey. His second book is due out very soon.

As we consider the related but different meanings and tone of "spirits" and "ghosts," Dennis shares personal stories of Halloween from his childhood and his adult life. We also touch on the history and traditions of Halloween, Christian feasts, and Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Chris shares examples from her own experience, ponders lyrics penned by Sting, and highlights the benefits of spirituality as well as the innate human capacity for spirituality. We talk death and life and demonstrate love and respect for our deceased family members.
