Annette is a Yoga Academy Certified Teacher specialising in yoga for sports, Hatha yoga, mindfulness and falling in love with life. When she was a little girl, one of her kidneys stopped working and had to be removed. As part of her aftercare, she was told the cold was dangerous for her. From that day, Annette’s mother protected her from the cold wrapping her up in layers, a habit she continued into adulthood. For years, the fear followed her.
When her son bought her a Wim Hof book as a Christmas gift that detailed a protocol to start your cold journey with cold showers, she decided it was time to confront the fear. Now she dips every day in the sea by her home in the south of France and takes cold showers regularly.
Today, cold water plays an important role in her life, through swimming and watching the sunlight dance across the surface of the sea. Over a blend of Nootropics, she sits down with Joey and Lucy to discuss how the cold sends them into the day with incredible energy and an openness to the possibilities and opportunities it may hold.
They also tackle the importance of intuition when it comes to the cold rather than subscribing to a set temperature or number of minutes and having compassion with yourself when your body tells you not to dip.
