Sylvia Global arrives in New York to meet with Sayu Bhojwani, Founding Director of The New American Leaders Project (NALP),  the only national organization specifically focused on preparing first- and second-generation immigrants for civic leadership.

Sayu Bhojwani served as New York City’s first Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs under Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, from 2002 to 2004. During her tenure as Commissioner, New York City established Immigrant Heritage Week to honor the contributions and cultures of immigrant communities in the City. Her office facilitated the passage of the earliest laws to increase immigrants’ access to translation and interpretation — Local Law 73 — and spearheaded the writing and Mayor’s signing of Executive Order 41, an unprecedented policy to protect the confidentiality of immigration status for those seeking City services. 

Nearly one in five Americans are either immigrants or were born in the U.S. to at least one immigrant parent. At NALP, we believe that through civic engagement and leadership, first- and second-generation immigrants can help strengthen the fabric of American democracy.

Each year, PROJECT C.U.R.E. repectfully delivers millions of dollars of donated medical relief to more than 120 countries. Since 1987, PROJECT C.U.R.E. has delivered equipment and supplies to incredibly needy people around the world. Dr. Jackson, is the former provost for Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado.

Sylvia Global visits London to meet with Amina Doherty, Coordinator for FRIDA | The Young Feminist Fund, a new millennial initiative that funds and strengthens the participation and leadership of young feminist activists globally. The Fund is a collaborative effort between the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), The Fondo Centroamericano de Mujeres/Central American Women’s Fund (FCAM) and an experienced group of young feminist activists from different regions of the world.

Sylvia Global  arrives in Anandapur, India, to meet with Indira Jena. Jena is the Founder and Executive Director of Nirnaya. Nirnaya is a stakeholder in the Women's Funding Network.  Serving thousands of marginalized women of various caste, class and religious sects, she is commited to recentering women to a status of decision making and dignity equal to men in all spheres of life.
