Over the last two years we have been asked a number of different questions, such as, how did you come to do what you are doing? Or, how did your marriage make it? Or even, what happened to get you through to this point in your life? I think however my favorite question is, what is your story?
Over the next 4-5 episodes Ginelle and Tennison will unpack their continuing journey to relational health and maturity. You will learn where and how the journey started, how the lack of relational maturity skills and trauma contributed to the dysfunction in their marriage and how it affected their children. You will also hear how Joy and connection begin the healing process in every area of their lives.
This is a beautiful story of hope, joy, and God's grace, and the journey isn't over!

Mars Hill Church was founded in 1996 by Mark Driscoll, Lief Moi and Mike Gunn, and in 2014 the church was dissolved. Between those two dates, this church went on a wild ride. Christianity Today produced a 10 episode podcast called the Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. As we listened to this expose, we felt, in light was our last series on the Half Brained Church, we needed to respond to this podcast. This is not finger pointing, or heaping on, this is our heartfelt conversation about the hurt, disappointment, and trauma that comes from being involved in churches that are being lead by narcissist leaders and what we can do to heal and ultimately prevent this from happening.

How do we get so caught up and miss what is actually happening right in front of our face? How do we miss the people who are being hurt, disowned and even excommunicated by the organization that we have given your lives to? How do we allow narcissism to run rampant in our churches and community?

If living Whole-Brained is truly how God created us, why don't we? Why does it seem so hard to live relationally? What are we missing, or is this really just a unrealistic utopian dream? Or does it simply come back full circle to maturity?
Tennison and Ginelle conclude their conversation, this series, and this season on the Half Brained Church. Join the as they unpack how living a Whole-Brained Christianity relies heavily on growing and living in the fullness of your maturity. They also discuss what happens when there is no clear plan to mature God's people and the important role true mature elders play raising others up into maturity.

Whole-Brained relationally mature pastors and leaders are unfortunately, hard to find today. We, the people, have a very strong propensity to promote people past their maturity level. We see their gifts and jump at the chance to have them lead us. But in doing so we tend to sacrifice the importance of relational connections that God designed us to live in.
In this episode, Tennison and Ginelle will be discussing what Whole-Brained relational mature pastors and leaders look like. What the character traits that we should be looking for, and be seen, in our leaders. What is the purpose of the titles, Apostle, Pastor, Prophet, Teacher, Evangelist, that we give our leaders.

Living Whole-Brained is the way that God design us to live from the beginning. And Jesus modeled this for us. Everything he did was relational, however He did not forgo knowledge and spiritual disciplines. Somehow, over time we have swung the pendulum to the completely opposite side. We forgo the true relational aspects that we were created to live and thrive in and functionally live in the knowledge, truth, program, and spiritual discipline side of our brain. And we think that is how transformation happens. This is not the roadmap that Jesus left us.
Join Tennison and Ginelle as they begin to unpack Whole-Brained Christianity. In this episode they will revisit the 4 ingredients for healthy soil and what a Whole-Brained church could look like.
