Tabor Church

Today we will start with a quote from agnostic Bertrand Russell that will lead us into the question about prophecy and God being able to foretell of the things that will happen. God is not just a fortune teller, but even greater.
What do you think about the prophecies of old being fulfilled? Any other questions to add?

We are back after a little bit of a break. We are continuing to talk about big questions and continuing with big questions about Jesus. We are going to talk about miracles. Do you believe in miracles? Do you believe that the natural world with all of its laws and rules, can be changed? Miracles are supernatural and therefore beyond the natural. What can you add to the conversation?

The major heresies of the Christian Church mainly come down to the issues of Jesus. They sometimes are about his humanity (being human) and his divinity (being God). So today we handle the claims that Jesus makes about himself. What do you have to add to this subject?

What other questions do you have about Jesus, that you would like to see discussed?

Today we are starting up the big questions about the life of Jesus. We are going to start with the records or accounts of Jesus life.  Are they reliable? Some try and say the Gospels were written hundreds of years after Jesus life, death and resurrection. This is simply made up. What big questions do you have about Jesus?

Today we are going to discuss the different perspectives on Genesis 1. It is important to be open to discussion on this topic because there is a wide variety of interpretation even amongst people who are followers of Jesus. What do you have to add to the discussion?

Today we are going to talk about the fine tuning of the universe. The fine tuning makes the universe just right for life to exist. We keep this discussion to the universe level and talk about complexity. Is this all an accident? Is there something else going on? What do you have to add to the conversation?

On Sunday at Tabor Church, we began the discussion on Science and religion. This week we will dive into more subjects of science. To begin with we'll talk about the start. Where did it come from? Did it have a beginning or was it created out of nothing? These are some of the questions I will discuss today. Feel free to add to the discussion.

New Age philosophy says that we can't avoid creating our reality. Each time we think a thought we are creating it. This thinking leads people to believe that all the evil in their life is not anyone else's fault but their own. Today we'll talk karma and reincarnation and what that means with evil. What thoughts do you have on the subject?

So if evil exists and God is not the cause of it, what is the purpose of it? There is a bunch of evil, does God not care about any of it? We are going to discuss this today. What do you have to add to the discussion today?

I know that this question sounds ridiculous. But there are people who believe and report to others that evil is not reality. We will spend some time today talking about reality and the truth of evil. What do you have to add to the discussion?
