Today we will be talking about the spiritual toddler. What do they look like? What challenges do they express? How can we support them? Don't fall into the trap of trying to compare levels of maturity...this is most definitely a sign of immaturity. This all about how we can support one another and encourage, comfort and urge each other.

Yesterday we started talking about how to grow as a disciple and we started out with those who are far from God. Today we will talk about the spiritual infant. This does not correspond to age or how long someone has been a Christian. There can be plenty of infant Christians who have been in the Church for a long while. Infants need attention, they can't take care of themselves. That is just like spiritual infants who need mature Christians around them.

We are going to talk about how we can grow as disciples. We will go through the stages from spiritually dead to mature follower (and all the stages in between). Today we will start out with the spiritually dead. We should all go back here sometimes to understand that we all started here. We were spiritually dead, as Ephesians 2, tells us. We shouldn't be surprised when people are here or by what they will do. We need patience and an open spirit to speak into their lives.

Today we will continue the theme of family and talk with my other daughter Kaitlyn. She is at the tail end of the Millennials and at the beginning of Gen Z. I believe we need to listen more than we talk and it would lead to greater conversation and understanding. This episode is also longer than our typical 5 min, but it is good to do sometimes. Enjoy the episode!

I talked with my daughter Laura yesterday about her life as a disciple and so I thought it would also be good to talk with my two older granddaughters about how important it is to know and make known the love of God. You'll want to hear their beautiful rendition of "Be present at our table" it is the song they sing before their devotion time. We can learn a lot from child-like faith.
