The lesson isn’t about alcohol/drug safety, or to not go out, or even really about consent (which should always be given by any individual involved) but it’s about being an advocate for someone, having a plan, and understanding the process so you can help others try to make the best decisions they can or if it happens to you, you can have a little bit of knowledge. Handling a child or really any individuals emotional/mental trauma and having the patience is difficult, especially as you wait for them to go through the stages of and/or grief, change, etc. lit doesn’t have to be a child but in my case it is unfortunately. However, I will talk about different strategies for maintaining patience and keeping yourself whole to help them go through what is necessary for them to become whole too.
