A little over a month ago patrons gathered at Tower District Records to discuss their top 10 singles on vinyl.  The audio isn’t always the best but the discussion is engaging.  The audio has a few glitches in the beginning but we mostly sort it out quickly.  What’s on your top 10? We get back on the horse after a lengthy hiatus but we pick it up where we left off; at debauchery. We talk about our best vinyl finds of 2016 and it’s all over the place. We proudly play a great vinyl track from Bella Donna in the Song Break, the latest release from our sponsor Feedbands.com. The discussion turns to posthumous releases and the ethics of raiding the vaults of the deceased. The Band’s Music From Big Pink is the Rolling Stone album on the countdown and “Paul” tells us all about the LP. Surface Noise serves us the usual vinyl goodness. Cheers!

This episode rises to a clamor as we all try to drunkenly squeeze in our thoughts. The second of two episodes recorded that day with guests Paul, Steve, and Chris has us talking about the worst concert we’ve all experienced before paying tribute to the late Sharon Jones with a vinyl track in the Song Break. We also discuss what happens when you outgrow or get tired of a favorite artist. Ziggy Stardust lands at #35 on the Rolling Stone countdown and then we play some more great vinyl from our personal collections. Buckle up for a bumpy ride!

We had full table with six voices for your brain to keep up with. Frequent guests Chris and Steve join us again and uberfan Paul swings into town to finally get his chance to chime in instead of ranting on our Facebook page. It was so much fun that we recorded two episodes that day (more on that at a later date). In the meantime, enjoy as we talk about judging others by their record collections and discuss how we decide on choosing who and when to see live music these days. We invite TFTC veteran guest Steve to sit in as blasphemy reigns and chairs are figuratively tossed when we all throw some favorites under the tour bus by discussing the worst songs by beloved bands. Andrew serves up some new Jeff the Brotherhood before we plow through our favorite rock and roll movies. We wonder how Hotel California somehow lands pretty high on the Rolling Stone Top 100 countdown and we serve up four tracks of vinyl goodness in Surface Noise. Take notes because this one is full of opinions and you can tell us how wrong we all were…

Recorded during a strange and rare day when the “Closed” sign was on the door of the shop, we had the ambition, the stories, the tunes, and enough beer to do two episodes this day. Alas, we lost our way and only got this beauty of a disaster recorded. The good news? We drank two episodes worth of beer. We discuss sexism in rock as only three white guys can, bust out a great new Slow Season tune on vinyl, and talk about how our music collections have morphed over the years. Muddy Waters lands in the Rolling Stone countdown (fitting…) and of course we spin our own vinyl in the Surface Noise segment. Crack a cold one for this episode…you’ll need it!

Minding our manners after last episode’s debauchery had us all watching our Ps and Qs. We toast former Megadeth drummer Nick Menza, who died onstage doing what he loved (but does that really matter?). We get further into the debate of reissued vinyl Vs. original pressings. A great Sturgill Simpson song before we give some love to underrated/under appreciated guitarists. The Beatles first LP lands on the Rolling Stone countdown and a very subdued Surface Noise finishes off another fun day at Tower District Records. Enjoy!

Like a tree falling in the woods with no one around, we wonder if our first Prime Time episode makes a sound. Well, yes it does….lots and lots of filthy sounds. Due to scheduling conflicts, we crammed in a Friday night show after Bob closed the shop and we went for Tarantino-level profanity. We discuss what Tony calls “The Moment of Impact”—what song or artist changed your listening direction, hear Charles Bradley’s soulful take on Sabbath, yet another discussion on replacement singers inspired by Axl’s AC/DC gigs, and dig deep into Love’s psych classic Forever Changes on the Rolling Stone countdown. Surface Noise features the three of us for a change! Kids? Earmuffs!

So we thought we’d just be doing another stupid podcast where we drink beer, play some vinyl, and discuss some music news. We did just that with frequent guest Steve…but, then along came Gayle Skidmore and Chelsea Wilde. These amazing artists stopped us cold in our tracks with their impressive playing and beautiful voices.
