  • TWDTT 132 – No Other Way (S11E9)
Tense, Explosive, and some gray moral area decisions are being made!

For episode 132 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle and LT talk through The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 9 titled No Other Way. It was written by Corey Reed and directed by Jon Amiel.

Maggie makes a dark choice with the Reapers and the Alexandrians get offered a choice for hope.

What can we say? This episode just had so many great moments, some big feels, and tense moments for its return that were just exactly what we needed. Part 2 of Series Ending Season 11 is off to a great start. Maggie and the gang deal with the Reapers to get the food that the Alexandrians need to survive and come out victorious but battered and bruised. Alexandria gets an offer from the Commonwealth but it looks like not everyone takes them up on it. There is the time jump at the end of this episode with Maggie and Daryle staring back at each other on opposite sides so we will have to wait and see how this developed. Are they still with each other or against each other? So many questions.

Join Kyle and LT (Brian will be back sometime later this season) as they discuss the explosive return of The Walking Dead Part 2 of Season 11, Episode 9, No Other Way.

Star Trek: Discovery - Season 4 Episode 7

We're back!!! We've been behind all season, and just as we start catching up, we slowed down again, and the Star Trek: Prodigy episode got out several days before us. It's Brian again, and on this episode, Ruthie and I talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 4 Episode 7, titled ...But to Connect. This episode was written by Terri Hughes Burton (not Anne Cofell Saunders, as I said in the episode) & Carlos Cisco, and it was directed by Lee Rose.

It was a mixed bag on this episode for both of us. There were several things to like, but there were also some head-scratchers and things to dislike.

  • FTWDTT 091 – Padre (S7E8)
    Talking Through Padre

For this episode 91 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian, Kyle, and LT talk through the mid-season finale of Season 7 Episode 8 of Fear the Walking Dead titled Padre, which was written by Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss directed by Michael E. Satrazemis. We also discuss the series finale of The World Beyond Season 2 Episode 10, The Last Light.

    Padre, Padre, Padre!

So LT figured out what P.A.D.R.E. stands for. People Are Dying Run East. Well, it's better than nothing since all we got was that Padre was, thank goodness, not Padre Island. These writers need to be more creative, in our opinion. Well, this mid-season finale didn't give us much, a few shockers, and some TWDU questionable situations. The zombie virus has always acted a certain way so one character's situation doesn't seem to fit in. So I guess we will have to see how the back half takes this on.

We have Strand and Alicia finally have the long-awaited meet and greet and it doesn't turn out great. It's All-Out-War, so to speak and now with Senator Walker not showing Alicia where Padre is and the revelations by Strand that he killed Will, dramatic explosions are certainly in our future. Morgan was there, as well, and he's just there trying to help Alicia realize the options for her and her people so one can guess that in the back half he will play a bigger part to either find a resolution that doesn't kill everyone, or he will take sides. Good or Bad, he's the lead character for the showrunners so you know he has a part in all the drama that will unfold.

And we got some news about the return of 'you're not gone until you're gone' Madison Clark. Whether we see her in the back half of season 7 or if this is a development of Season 8, we shall see.

World Beyond, again, was much better than Fear this week and now that it's over we were left with some interesting tidbits about the CRM but it still fell flat. We know the movies are still coming, or we think they are so it's likely we will see some of our crew in the future. I just hope we get more CRM storyline in the months and years ahead because there was so much more they could have done with the 20 episodes of World Beyond that would have made the entirety of the series that much better.

Also of note that we discussed at the end of the podcast LT's guest appearance on the Computer Resume Podcast. It has been released and you can check it out here! He talks Cast as Crew: II Enterprise S2 Ep 21 & 22 – The Breach & Cogenitor with host Todd A. Davis. So go check it out.

So without any more delay (and thank you to everyone for their patience and condolences to Kyle) join Brian, LT, and Kyle as they discuss the mid-season finale of Fear the Walking Dead, Padre, and The Series Finale of The Walking Dead World Beyond, The Last Light. See you in February when The Walking Dead Season 11 - part 2 returns!

This episode was written by Anne Cofell Saunders & Brandon Schultz, and it was directed by Jonathan Frakes.

Again, we're sorry that this episode came out when it did, but we did make up a few days from the last one. Unfortunately, we recorded the mid-season finale on Monday night, January 3rd, so this goes out after that one's been recorded. If you have feedback about this podcast or the mid-season finale, we won't get to cover it until the mid-season premiere in February. Speaking of that... More later.

It was a split vote this week. I more or less loved it, while Ruthie didn't.

    Tentatively?

Yes, because that week, I'll be moving from the state of Florida all the way up to Northern Michigan. I know I should be getting editing help from Kyle that week, but recording and even watching the episode may end up being difficult for me, as I don't know what my internet access or time I'll have to work on the podcast will be like. One way or another, the podcast will go on, but we may have a delay in recording and putting out that first episode, I may need a guest host to come in that week, or both. We shall see. • FTWDTT 090 – The Portrait (S7E7)
    Talking Through The Portrait

For this episode 90 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and LT talk through Season 7 Episode 7 of Fear the Walking Dead, titled The Portrait, which was written by Nick Bernardone directed by Heather Cappiello. We also discuss The World Beyond Season 2 Episode 9, Death and the Dead.

Strand shows his true nature but Morgan comes to crash his party with baby Mo in tow. Oh, and there was a Trebuchet, too.

Strand took his dictatorial transformation to new levels this episode but it gets tested by Morgan showing up with sick baby Mo. Then to add even more problems for the Tower the Strippers/Stalkers/whatever you want to call them, show up and lay siege to those inside with walker-laden atomic bombs being flung via Trebuchet. I mean seriously who the heck was on watch and let them be able to do that. This thing was huge so it’s not like it wasn't going to be noticeable from the rooftops. So when the madness starts Strand unleashes his inner paranoia that leads to everyone around him being an enemy. There were times it seemed like Strand was going to let down his guard and his beef with Morgan but then, queue writers doing something completely out of character for Morgan, he tries to take out Strand. It didn't make sense and there were a lot of questions as to why and how this was the direction that he took. But alas, it was the direction the show went. It wasn't a bad episode and had some tense moments, insight into Strands psyche, and the cherry on top was Alicia finally showing up with her band of merry, well not so merry, men. Brian and LT had a lot to discuss about some of the inconsistencies with the story, how the Stalkers were even able to lay siege as they did, Morgan so out of character, and Strand as Dorian Gray. So there was some good and not so good.

World Beyond this season is starting to develop into a good show but why it took this long to get there is beyond us. Brian and LT discuss this at length and was a big part of this episode for this week. The Series finale is next so will they stick the landing and give us more of the answers we seek about the CRM? We will have to wait and see.

So enjoy as Brian and LT (Kyle was not able to join this week due to a family emergency) as they discuss the Season 7 Episode 7 of Fear The Walking Dead, The Portrait.

Star Trek: Discovery - Season 4 Episode 4

We're back!!! Ruthie and Brian talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 4 Episode 4, titled All Is Possible. This episode was written by Alan McElroy & Eric J. Robbins and it was directed by John Ottman.

We're sorry that this episode came out so late for regular listeners, but it was also late for Patreon listeners, too. This is probably the worst it has been for one released in the middle of the season like this. It's become increasingly more difficult to get the episodes edited in a timely fashion. I'll try to get caught up over the holidays, but that's going to be difficult. I've just got a lot on my plate right now. Hopefully, you won't have to wait as long for S4E5, which has already been recorded.

Tilly and Adira take cadets out on a training mission...

Tilly leads a training mission that goes very wrong. In the end, we get an idea of the isolation, distrust, and derisiveness that happened after "The Burn".

    We will miss you!

Tilly goes off to teach at Starfleet Academy. We speculated as far as what that is going to mean for the show. We think she's not gone for good, but what will it mean for the show going forward? Did we lose as a regular one of the fans' favorite characters on this show?

    Welcome back, Ni'Var!

The united Ni'Varians (Romulan and Vulcan people) are now back in the Federation, but it took (yet again) Burnham to put herself in the center of things. Even we think this gets old after a while. However, the scenes on Ni'Var were good, especially the T'Rina and Saru scenes.

Star Trek: Discovery - Season 4 Episode 3

We're back!!! Ruthie and Brian talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 4 Episode 3, titled Choose to Live. This episode was written by Terri Hughes Burton and it was directed by Christopher J. Bryne.

We're sorry that this episode came out so late for regular listeners. It's become increasingly more difficult to get the episodes edited in a timely fashion. I'll try to get caught up, but that's going to be difficult.

    SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

If you haven't seen this episode of Star Trek: Discovery, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We'll be here for you! Ruthie liked it more than last week. I liked it less. Both of us realized that the last episode's rating may have been too generous.

The Burnhams and Tilly go after a rogue... and Stamets wants to prove a theory...

We take a bit of a break from the anomaly story to go after a rogue Qowat Milat who has killed a Starfleet officer. It's up to Burnham, Burnham's mom, and Tilly to bring her in. Stamets has theories about the anomaly, and, with Booker in tow, heads to Ni'Var to discuss them with members of the Ni'Var Science Academy.
