Elizabeth and Mom talk to Dad about NPR, the dogs that Elizabeth was dogsitting in college and David Lynch’s sense of humor.  In the News, there’s a story about a family that runs half marathons wearing Crocs, a prank pineapple that became part of a modern art exhibit, and a couple of stories about people who stole snack foods.  The podcast addresses the important subject of Little Debbie snack cakes.  Dad gives Mom and Elizabeth a quiz found on McSweeney’s called “Hemingway or Mom’s Email.”  Elizabeth gives a couple of quizzes to Mom and Dad called “A Great Gatsby Quote or an Ed Sheeran Lyric” and “Quote from Pride and Prejudice or Panic! At the Disco Lyric.” Finally, Dad, Mom and Elizabeth sample several different flavors of Halo Top, a low calorie ice-cream-like dessert.

Henry, Will and Mom talk to Dad about the critter that was in their garage.  Will tells some story from a campout he went to.  Henry talks about taking more standardized tests.  In the news, there’s a story about scientists solving the mystery of Death Valley’s sailing rocks.  Will reads a story about a teen who breaks the record for the most retweets on Twitter in his quest for Wendy’s chicken nuggets. Henry has a story about 10-year-old girl in Florida that escaped an alligator by prying its mouth open, and Mom tells a story about a python in Alaska that went missing, but found its way home.  Finally, Dad reads a story about a Tokyo jewelry store offering a solid gold Darth Vader mask.  The boys and Mom and Dad play a round of Would You Rather, and then sample some unusual flavors of Pringles for Treat Yourself.

Will and Henry talk about how excited they are for the Nintendo Switch, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 and the end of school.  In the news, there’s a story about a local woman who found a bobcat inside her house, a very expensive pair of jeans that look like they are covered in mud, therapy llamas and alpacas that can be used as wedding gifts, and a woman who pulled a gun on a barber because he was being slow.  Finally, the boys talk to dad about McDonald’s new invention, the “frork,” a fork made with french fries.  Henry gives Dad a Dad Quiz to see how much he and Henry know about Five Nights at Freddy’s.  Finally, courtesy of friends Alex and A.J., Dad, Will and Henry try a selection of German Haribo candies for Treat Yourself.

Phoebe talks to Dad about her upcoming AP tests, updates on Crazy Maisy, and that time when she opened the front door in a prom dress to great the fence guy.  Dad talks about painting for a work service project, and misremembers details of the old house. Phoebe and Dad talk about how they associate certain thoughts and memories with locations and smells.  In the News, there’s a story about Uber experimenting with flying cars (with a tangent about Dad meeting Ross Perot), a story about golf balls in the hash browns (with a tangent about funeral potatoes), plastic munching caterpillars, and a 63-year-old-woman who tried to rappel into her apartment window. Phoebe and Dad take competing quizzes to see if Dad knows more about the 1970s or Phoebe knows more about the year 2000.  Finally, for Treat Yourself, Dad and the kids try some unusual flavors of taffy that Phoebe bought at the popcorn and candy store.

Will and Mom talk to Dad about bugs and the weather.  The trio discusses whether their Boston terrier, Maisy, is smart or stupid, weighing the arguments for both.  Will shares some very strange recurring dreams he’s had about Hitler.  Dad talks about Henry’s pinewood derby car and shares a YouTube video about a father recovering from knee surgery who really doesn’t want to go to pack meeting.  In the News, there’s an update on the stash of gold coins found inside a piano.  Will shares a news story about a 1500-pound Rubik’s cube at the University of Michigan.  Dad shares a story about a woman in Texas who got her arm stuck in a toilet.  Mom talks about an Ice Cream Museum in Los Angeles, complete with a pool filled with sprinkles.  Finally, Dad has a story about a man in Australia whose house was identified as a pizzeria by Google Maps and recalls a story about the early days of  Google navigation and a failed attempt to find Double Dave’s Pizza.  Dad tries out a new segment called One Word Story, which sort of works, if you like very bizarre stories about unicorns and their tears.  For Treat Yourself, Dad, Will and Mom try a Japanese candy called Super Cola.

Phoebe talks to Dad about her upcoming four-day weekend, choir, pop music, and what the decades are called.  In the News, there’s a story about a mom who brought her dog to a furry convention, an 8-year-old who learned to drive on YouTube, and a new world record for popping balloons by a dog.  Phoebe gives Dad a Dad Quiz to see how much he remembers about US history.  For Treat Yourself, Henry joins and along with Phoebe and Dad in sampling fruit with pulp drinks from Jusco, the Chinese grocery store.

Henry and Mom talk to Dad about Henry having to take standardized testing, and Maisy, their puppy going crazy after the backyard fence was partially destroyed by a storm.  In the news, there’s a story (with audio) about a fourth-grade teacher that gave his class a crazy spelling test, a 105-year-old man in England who rode a rollercoaster, marshmallow Peeps on pizza, and the nutritional value of cannibalism.  Henry, Mom and Dad bring back the Alexa Quiz and play a game based on which questions and statements their Amazon Echo will respond to.  A little bit of chaos ensues (with Phoebe and Mom spontaneously singing Bon Jovi) while William switches places with Mom.  Will and Henry play a round of Either/Or, then the boys sample more root beer (Dang! Butterscotch and Sparky’s Fresh Draft) from Dad’s root beer stash for Treat Yourself.

Phoebe talks to Dad about qualifying for state competition with her cello ensemble and reminisces about last year’s trip to Austin.  Dad and Phoebe talk about some violent weather they’ve been having, including golf-ball-sized hail and fence-blowing-over winds.  In the News there’s a story about the couple that won the right to be the first people to be married at the Las Vegas Strip Taco Bell.  Also in the news, a story about a lawyer with his pants on fire and another about how all the world’s spiders could eat all the humans in a single year, if they decided to. Also, a strange story about the weird reason a young couple faked their own deaths.  In Family Archives, Dad reads a news story from 1973 about how croquet is sweeping the nation.  Mom joins the podcast, and Phoebe, Mom and Dad play a game to see how far back in history they can name people living in different centuries.  Finally, in Treat Yourself, the family samples of couple of root beers.

Will, Henry and Mom talk to Dad about what Will and Henry did while Mom and Dad were on vacation in Japan and about Mom and Dad’s vacation.  Will talks about the counterfeit “oops passes” that have been going around his school.  Henry talks about all the treats and junk food that Grandma bought them, and Henry and Will talk about their new favorite TV show, The Flash.  This leads into a discussion of the history of The Flash in the comic books, which Dad tries to sort out.  Dad and the boys talk about seeing the movie Kong: Skull Island.  Dad and Mom tell the boys about their trip to Japan and the things they did and saw there.  In the news, there’s a story about the British Quidditch Cup and a piano in England that was hiding a stash of gold coins.  There are also stories about a boy in Arkansas who found a good-sized diamond and a pastor in Sierra Leone who found a huge diamond.  And finally, a story about a 70-pound popcorn ball.  The boys and Mom play a round of Either/Or, then a quick Hypothetical about horses and ducks.  Finally, for Treat Yourself, the family samples different flavors of KitKat (rum raisin, purple sweet potato, red bean sandwich and wasabi) that Mom and Dad brought home from Japan.

Phoebe talks to dad about State Academic Decathlon in El Paso.  Dad tells the story of finding Phoebe’s phone at a random Sonic after midnight on a Saturday night.  In the News, there’s a story about a mom who dressed up like a dad for her son’s school event, and another mom who sends her college son a care package full of trash.  Phoebe and Dad play a few rounds of Would You Rather.
