Army of the Dead is a 2021 American zombie heist film directed by Zack Snyder, with a screenplay by Snyder, Shay Hatten, and Joby Harold, based on an original story by Snyder. The film stars an ensemble cast consisting of Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tig Notaro, Raúl Castillo, Huma Qureshi and Garret Dillahunt. The plot follows a group of soldiers who plan a Las Vegas casino heist amid a zombie apocalypse. The film was announced in 2007, but spent several years in development hell at Warner Bros. before having the rights bought by Netflix in 2019. Snyder was announced as director, and the cast joined over the next several months. Chris D'Elia was originally cast in the film, but after several sexual misconduct accusations were made against him in August 2020, Tig Notaro was hired to replace his character and reshot his scenes using green screen and body doubles. The #talkintv boys break down their thoughts on the movie, how it adds to the zombie subgenre and what it does for Snyder as a whole, before giving their final thoughts. It's all covered here on the #talkintvpodcast

Spiral: From the Book of Saw, or simply Spiral, is a 2021 American horror film that serves as the first spin-off in the Saw film series. It is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, his fourth film of the series, and written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger. The film stars Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson, and follows police efforts to stop a Jigsaw copycat killer. The original creators of the series, James Wan and Leigh Whannell, serve as executive producers alongside Rock. Talks of another Saw installment began after the release of Jigsaw in 2017, with Chris Rock wanting to branch out into the horror genre. While the film certainly has its aspirations and allusions, the #talkintv boys break down exactly why this film doesn't work despite its best intentions, along with frequent channel collaborator and fellow Talkin' Thrones host, Professor Pat Huber. Jupiter's Legacy is an American superhero streaming television series developed by Steven S. DeKnight, based on the Image comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, that premiered on Netflix on May 7, 2021. The series stars Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, and Matt Lanter. The central figure is the Utopian, but to his family, he is merely Sheldon Sampson (Duhamel), a man struggling between being the family patriarch who’s attempting to instill some morals in his now-grown children, and being the flawless, visionary superhero the world needs. Filling out the gaps of the immediate family are his wife Grace (Leslie Bibb in a fitting come full circle moment since the first Iron Man) aka Lady Liberty; his brother Walter (Ben Daniels) aka Brainwave; his son, Brandon (Andrew Horton) aka The Paragon, who is trying desperately to live up to his father’s image; and estranged daughter Chloe (Elena Kampouris) who has left the superhero life behind to pursue the celebrity route.
