  • BONUS: Final Bills Mock Draft (Version 6.0)

On this bonus episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran welcomes friend and recurring guest Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for the sixth and final Buffalo Bills mock published every Wednesday leading up to the actual NFL draft that begins April 29.

Before embarking on the final mock of the series, the guys spend some time trying to come to conclusions and patterns they’ve longed about the previous five editions.  Patrick realizes that to get a guy he really wants the Bills can’t hope it falls in their laps at 30, while Aaron spends considerable time talking about defensive edge and cornerback.

The mock begins and they examine trading up seven or eight spots into the early 20’s but roll the dice and decide not to.  The gamble, at least for their wants pays off as the Bills are left with an unexpected choice of two running backs they really like.  Ultimately they land on Travis Etienne in large part because he’s the bigger home run threat and love what Brian Dabol can potentially do with him.

The Bills stand pat in the second and third rounds as well, left with a decision between two corners they really like Elijah Molden and Ifeatu Melifonwu in the second before taking the same third round safety as they did last week.

The lone Bills trade of the draft happens soon after, when Aaron trades both Bills picks in the 5th round as well as a late 2022 pick to move into Las Vegas’ spot in round four (122 overall) to select a developmental defensive tackle to potentially take over for Star Lotulelei in due time.

They finish off the draft with a cornerback/special teams star in the sixth and a familiar wide receiver in the seventh before going over the Bills current roster draft winners and losers and a few bold predictions for this week’s NFL draft around the league.

  • Matt Parrino, Buffalo Bills Beat Reporter & Podcaster

On this episode of the future award-winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran has a conversation with recurring guest and friend, Buffalo Bills beat reporter and popular podcaster Matt Parrino on a variety of topics including the Bills, NFL draft, podcasting and much more.

The NFL draft is just a few days away and Matt spends time discussing how the Bills have put themselves into a position where he’ll be good with just about any direction the organization goes with their selections. He thinks a running back like Travis Etienne is certainly realistic with the 30th pick but also discusses a handful of other prospects as well as trade down scenarios.

They also spend time evaluating the Bills offseason in its totality and if they think the organization should’ve been more aggressive as well as thoughts on Baltimore trading Orlando Brown to conference rival Kansas City, the Miami Dolphins being in position to add supreme talent to their roster this week and the possibility if not likeliness that New England trades up for a quarterback.

Prior to football talk the guys spend time discussing Matt and Ryan Talbot’s rapidly growing “Shout Buffalo Football Podcast” and some behind the scenes stuff with that as well as joy of their children being involved with sports, valuable advice for content creators and much (much) more.

You can follow Matt on Twitter @MattParrinoand of course be sure to check out his work at NYup.comas well as subscribe to the Shout Buffalo Football Podcast.

  • BONUS: Bills Takes & Joe's Wedding Proposal Goes Mainstream

On this episode of the future award-winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran has a chat with buddy and recurring guest Joe From Queens, who returns for the first time in over two months to discuss the Buffalo Bills, vaccination requirement takes and his recent engagement that landed as a feature story in the New York Post.

The NFL draft is just a few days a way and Joe gives his thoughts on the totality of the Bills offseason, split somewhat in the middle between enjoying the commitment to keeping the core intact but also questioning whether they’ve been aggressive enough to overtake Kansas City as the best team in the AFC.

They also discuss/argue about the direction the Bills should and will go in this week’s draft and Joe has thoughts on whether he thinks the Covid vaccine should be mandatory for players and fans who want to attend games this year.

Before that, Joe provides all the details of his proposal that ultimately landed as a feature story in the New York Post last week, confirming what details of the story were true and those that were inaccurate.

All that and much more.  Follow Joe on Twitter @BuffaloWins

  • Casual Friday: Bills Schedule Talk, Pizza Fallout & Best Movie Villains

It’s Casual Friday on this episode of the future-award winning Talking Buffalo Podcast and as always Patrick Moran’s joined by 26 Shirts owner and #BillsMafia co-founder Del Reid to discuss a variety of topics highlighting the Buffalo Bills, latest 26 Shirts campaign and their regular segments, featuring a “Starting Five’ draft of their favorite Movie Villains.

It was announced the NFL schedule will be revealed on May 12th and the guys discuss their level of interest, including a discussion on how they feel about prime times games in general and the reports that the Bills are in serious consideration to be involved in the NFL season kickoff opener at Tampa.  Del also picks which two road games he’d hypothetically most like to attend this season.

They also spend time discussing the latest 26 Shirts design and campaign, “High Score” which benefits 45-year old Kevin, who’s suffering from kidney cancer. You can purchase the shirt by clicking here.

They then have their weekly segments, which brings a fact most didn’t know about the Beastie Boys courtesy of Del in “Today’s Years Old” before going over last week’s poll results that saw Del handily defeat Patrick in their drafting of favorite Buffalo pizza places.  This week’s “Starting Five” draft consists of best Movie Villains.

  • BONUS: Buffalo Bills Mock Draft (Version 5.0)

On this bonus episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran welcomes friend and recurring guest Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for the fifth of six weekly Buffalo Bills mock draft podcast episodes every Wednesday leading up to the actual NFL draft that begins April 29.

Before embarking on their second-to-last Bills mock draft, the guys spend a handful of minutes figuring out if a defensive end they like could fall to Buffalo at No. 30 as well as digest some of Brandon Beane’s comments from his pre-draft presser on Tuesday.  Aaron also speaks on confidence in the organization that’s resulted in him having a peace of mind going into the draft and not stressed over what the Bills may do with their selections.

When the bullets start firing in the real-time simulated mock the guys take an advantage to trade up in both the first and second round, landing themselves a defensive end they’ve tried unsuccessfully to land in the first four mocks by moving up three spots with Baltimore and then having a lightning rod player fall far enough into the second to go up eight spots to Tennessee and get him.  They end up with just two more picks: a developmental safety in the third and some potential wide receiver depth in the sixth.

Before signing off Aaron throws props to fellow Talking Buffalo Podcast contributor Joe From Queens on his recent (and eventful) engagement.

  • BONUS: Buffalo Bills Mock Draft (Version 4.0)

On this bonus episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran welcomes friend and recurring guest Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for the fourth of six weekly Buffalo Bills mock draft podcast episodes every Wednesday leading up to the actual NFL draft that begins April 29. This mock ultimately featured not one but two Buffalo Bills trade ups.

Before getting to the latest draft the guys spend a few minutes discussing what they learned from the previous three, with Patrick pointing out that getting an edge defender who you can count on being a strong contributor as a rookie isn’t going to be on the board at 30 and trading up would be a requirement.  They also go over some realistic trade up scenarios in regards to what the cost would potentially be.

This draft begins and the guys land on pick No. 25 (Jacksonville) as a good trade up spot to target an edge they both like. However, Jacksonville rejects the offer and they’re “stuck” with the Bills keeping their pick at 30, leading to a guy ranked higher but who slipped due to injury concerns, Caleb Farley.

They do move up in round two, jumping up 14 spots to the Chargers pick to take an offensive lineman that Aaron considers a first-round talent.  They pick the same defensive tackle (Tyler Shelvin) in the third round for the third time in four mocks.

They move up in the fifth round again, surrendering their seventh-rounder to move up five spots for a small school defensive end and wrap up with a sixth-rounder, a wide receiver from Clemson (Cornell Powell) they’ve taken previously.

This is a fun and informative exercise that’s teaching the guys a lot about the process and prospects that fit in certain situations.

  • Casual Friday: Sporting Buffalo, Best Movie Soundtracks & the Sabres Are Good?

On today’s future award-winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, it’s “Casual Friday” and Patrick Moran is joined once again by 26 Shirts owner and BillsMafia co-founder Del Reid to discuss a variety of topics focused on Buffalo and fun pop culture stuff.

Josh Allen had some comments during a podcast this week with Kyle Brandt regarding Covid vaccinations that some deemed controversial and were quite vocal about their feelings on social media.  Patrick and Del discuss that while Josh is a great quarterback, a great teammate and a great asset to the Western New York community, no one should really give a crap what he thinks about Covid vaccinations, not to mention he didn’t really say anything definitively to begin with.

They also discuss a few Buffalo Bills news items, including Del confirming that a Forrest Lamp t-shirt is not in the works and Dean Marlowe leaving for Detroit leaving a nice hole in the Bills depth.

The Sabres are suddenly playing pretty good hockey and at least Patrick and Del are noticing.  The guys discuss if interim head coach Don Granato should be in the conversation for becoming the “permanent” coach.

26 Shirts has a new campaign this week, “Sporting Buffalo” to benefit a beautiful three-year old girl named Sophie.  Patrick tells the story behind her need for support with Del coloring in the insight.

They also have their weekly regular segments, including Patrick just learning that Robert Downey Jr. was not the top choice for the Iron Man movie series before they each draft a “Starting Five” of movie soundtracks, with Del’s picks extremely diverse while Patrick sticks to his 80s and early 90s gun.

You can follow Del on Twitter @DelReid and of course be sure to check out 26shirts.comfor the latest shirts and campaigns it helps benefit, including this week's "Sporting Buffalo".
