On this episode of the future award-winning Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran interviews Denver sports talk show host and NFL analyst Benjamin Allbright on a variety of topics setting you up for the Denver Broncos clash with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Allbright spends time discussing Denver’s 3-7 record, including how they’ve lost several games by one score in the final minutes. He also evaluates quarterback Brandon Allen through his first two career starts, the emergence of Cortland Sutton among the game’s more talented receivers, an offensive line that’s struggled to protect the quarterback and a defense under first-year head coach Vic Fangio that continues the trademark Denver tradition of stellar play.
They also discuss Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s progress, the problems John Brown can present to the Denver defense and how whoever lines up in the slot for Buffalo could end up doing serious damage. Allbright finishes with a game prediction and an X-factor for each team.
You can follow Benjamin Allbright on Twitter @AllbrightNFL.
Before the Allbright interview Patrick plays a memorable clip from another podcast earlier this week. On Tuesday’s Beyond the Blade podcast covering the Buffalo Sabres, Anthony Sciandra went on an epic rant about the failures and inaction of the Sabres organization in what’s quickly becoming another lost season. Moran plays the entire Sciandra/Sabres clip, which is positively must-listen content from the guys at Die by the Blade if you’re frustrated with Jason Botterill and the organization.
Moran also has debuts a series of chicken wing review/QB comparisons, which after today will be available exclusively the Moran-Alytics Podcast YouTube channel. The series starts with a look at Klimek’s Tavern in North Tonawanda.
Before calling it a day Moran gives congratulations to former UB star and personal family friend Demone Harris, who just signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. Moran tells listeners stories of Harris’ unmatched work ethic.

On this episode of the future award-winning Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran welcomes recurring guest Jeff Boyd of the 716 Sports Podcast and the two have a chat about the steady Buffalo Bills and steadily declining Buffalo Sabres.
The Bills went down to Miami in must-win mode after blowing a game the week before in Cleveland. Buffalo handled their business, disposing of the Dolphins to sweep the season divisional series and the guys are breaking the game down. They discuss Josh Allen unquestionably having his best all-around game as a pro, the continued emergence of John Brown as legitimate No. 1 wide receiver and invaluable offseason acquisition and on offensive line that deserves credit for not allowing a sack while paving the way for over 100 yards on the ground in the rushing game.
Patrick and Jeff also spend time talking about the defense, including a unit that was finally able to fix their run stuffing woes while dropping Ryan Fitzpatrick a half dozen times, including one each by all four defensive tackles.
They wrap Bills talk by looking ahead to Denver on Sunday, another contest Patrick considers must-win in their quest to get to double digit wins and make the playoffs for a second time in three seasons.
The attention then turns to hockey and what’s rapidly turned into yet another sobering campaign for the Sabres. The guys talk about their struggles or late, including literally anyone not named Jack Eichel being able to score a goal over the past three games.
You can follow Jeff on Twitter @JeffBoyd716 and check out the 716 Sports Podcast, out on Tuesdays and available on all major podcasting platforms.

On this episode of the future award-winning, five-star Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran has a chat with WGR-550 Buffalo sports talk show host Nate Geary on a variety of Buffalo Bills topics.
Unfortunately that includes the Josh Allen to Tyrod Taylor comparisons that were inevitable and starting to dominate conversations among Bills fans and media alike. Radio host Jerry Sullivan put out a Tweet earlier in the week that demonstrated the similarities between Buffalo’s former and present quarterbacks that sparked a firestorm of conversation and arguments on social media. Nate weighs in with his thoughts on if the comparisons right now are justifiable and has several takes on Allen’s first 20 games as the Bills starting quarterback and what he expects going forward.
They also discuss the saltiness of Bills head coach Sean McDermott at his Wednesday presser, a hypothetical 2018 QB re-draft scenario, the Bills game in Miami on Sunday not feeling like the lock for Buffalo it was once and much more.
You can follow Nate on Twitter @NateGearyWGR and listen to him on the air Saturday early afternoons and before Buffalo Bills games on WGR-550.

On this episode of the future award-winning Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran chats with WIVB-TV Channel 4 Buffalo sports anchor Nick Filipowski about both the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.
The two discuss a disastrous sports week for both Buffalo teams, starting with the Bills. Nick has thoughts on the Bills blown opportunity in Cleveland, including takes on offensive coordinator Brian Dabol, quarterback Josh Allen’s true progression in what Nick still considers essentially his first-year as quarterback, a troublesome run defense of late, Levi Wallace becoming the weak link of the secondary, the lack of playing time for first-round pick Ed Oliver and much more.
They also look forward to the next seven weeks and conclude the Bills next two games against Miami and Denver are must-win if the team remains likely to reach 10 wins and earn a playoff spot at the end of the regular season.
Before wrapping up they spend time talking about the Sabres and the recent freefall that’s seen them lose four straight and six out of seven to go from leading the NHL in points to currently a point out of a playoff spot. Nick talks about the lack of secondary scoring and the struggles of the power play as a big reason why and wonders what solutions need to happen to prevent the Sabres from having a repeat of last season.
You can follow Nick on Twitter @NEWS4_Nick and of course check out his work at WIVB-TV if you live in the Western New York market.

Cabot, a recurring guest on hit sports talk shows like The Dan Patrick Show, The Rich Eisen Show and the Jim Rome Show joins the Moran-Alytics Podcast for a second time (her first was back on Episode No. 27) and she chronicles why the Browns, crowned by many as the offseason champion have woefully underachieved during the first half of the regular season. Mary Kay discusses the offensive line and inconsistent play of quarterback Baker Mayfield as well the hot seat head coach Freddie Kitchens has quickly found himself in.
They also spend time getting listeners ready for the game on Sunday, with the Bills afforded an excellent opportunity to improve to 7-2 and in the process put Cleveland out of their misery for 2019.
You can follow Mary Kat on Twitter @MaryKayCabot and check out her work at Cleveland.com.

On this episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran interviews Nick and Bruce, co-hosts of the “Nick and Nolan Show” on the Buffalo Rumblings podcast network on a variety of topics.
They eventually work their way to a little Buffalo Bills talk but before that Patrick gives fans an opportunity to learn more about both guys and their podcast that quickly became a hit in #BillsMafia circles. They talk about growing up not geographically tied to the Bills– Nick near Pittsburgh and Bruce in several places before both eventually settled into the Cleveland area. They also tell why and how they became Bills fans, with Bruce having one of the more unorthodox methods of picking the Bills as his favorite team you’ll ever hear.
They also spend time talking about the Nick and Nolan Show, including how they actually met, the inspiration for the podcast, the conversation that led to getting it off the ground, the weekly process of producing the show and some of the excellent feedback they’ve gotten since launching.
Then the focus does indeed turn to the Bills and the three discuss and agree on who would be the team MVP through their first seven games and also talk about the importance of continuity in the offense, how much of a role the schedule has played in them being 5-2 and insight from each on how they see the rest of the season playing out.
It’s good stuff from a pair of guys putting out weekly content that’s becoming must-listen for any Bills fan.
You can follow Nick (@NickBat) and Bruce (@BruceExclusive) on Twitter and be sure to check out the Nick and Nolan Show, released every Wednesday on the Buffalo Rumblings network and available wherever you get your podcasts from.
Before the interview Patrick shares his thoughts on the Washington Nationals winning the World Series and the Buffalo Sabres still maintaining an excellent start to their season while also giving details on how you could win a free double order of wings and a large pizza from Macy’s Place Pizzeria, one of Western New York’s fastest rising pizza and wing joints.

On this episode of the future award-winning Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran interviews Spectrum News Buffalo sports anchor and reporter, Jon Scott on a variety of topics about his life and sports media career.
Jon talks growing up near Cleveland a huge sports fan, including Lebron James and the heartbreak of the Browns leaving for Baltimore in the mid-90s.
They also talk about why and how he ended up at the University of Dayton for college, how Scott’s opportunity to move to Buffalo and join Spectrum came about, his adjustment to the city, some sports media topics and the story of how he met his now fiancé Heather Prusak of WGRZ-TV before wrapping up with the traditional Mini-Lightning Round.
You can follow Jon on Twitter @JonScottTV and catch him on TV on Spectrum News Buffalo.
Sandwiched between the Jon Scott interview is a segment with recurring guest Aaron Quinn (@AaronQuinn716) from Cover 1. Today the guys are breaking down the disappointing but not hugely surprising Buffalo Bills lose to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
They discuss the leaking Buffalo Bills defense, particularly the run defense that gashed for more than 200 yards by Philadelphia and wonder if making a trade for an upgrade over Start Lotulelei would be an upgrade while Patrick thinks that it may be time to start pumping the brakes on declaring Tremaine Edmunds the next great young linebacker in the NFL.
The two also debate how bad of a game plan Brian Dabol dialed up and examine the team big picture, which still has Buffalo sitting well at 5-2 with an extremely winnable home contest coming up Sunday against Washington.

On this episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran interviews NFL Insider and recurring guest of the podcast, Adam Caplan to get you ready for the Buffalo Bills vs. Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday.
Caplan, connected to the league and lives near Philadelphia provides fans the rundown on the Eagles problems this year that’ve led to a 3-4 record over seven games and has them desperate for a road victory Sunday. Caplan talks about their depleted secondary, lack of productivity from depth players and a candid assessment of Carson Wentz while also spending time discussing Josh Allen and the “challenged” Buffalo offense while evaluating how legitimate he thinks Buffalo is and what a victory on Sunday would do to further elevate the franchise—and push them to 6-1 this season.
You can follow Adam on Twitter @CaplanNFL to keep up with all of his media appearances.
After that Moran is joined by Jeff Boyd of the 716 Sports Podcast for another installment of The Big Boyd Theory. Today the guys are talking Bills and Buffalo Sabres, focusing on the Bills potential issues of covering tight ends and a pass rush that’s been largely lacking this season as well as Philadelphia being the perfect opponent for Josh Allen to finally hit the 300 yards passing in a game threshold.
They also talk some Sabres, including the sustainability of their fast start as well as the enthusiasm their showing under Ralph Krueger, Krueger’s approach to using both goalies early that’s led to Carter Hutton sitting twice following shutouts and what the organization may do once defensemen Brandon Montour returns from injury.
Patrick also goes on a rant over some personal attack comments on Twitter earlier this week following his tweet that stated he personally would prefer a NBA franchise in Buffalo over the Sabres.

On this episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast presented by 26 Shirts, Patrick Moran has an interview with longtime WGR-550 Buffalo radio host Brian Koziol on a variety of subjects spanning his life and career.
Koziol talks sports being a huge part of his life from when he could first remember as a kid growing up in Lancaster, New York. He played sports youth through high school and for college chose Brockport State for academic reasons, originally for communications before falling in love with broadcasting.
He was hired by WGR-550 in 2001 and has become a fixture there ever since. After several roles over his first handful of years he started hosting intermission and postgame shows during Buffalo Sabres games in 2007-08 and has been doing it ever since. He talks about fun parts of the job as well as many challenges that come with it.
They also spend time talking about Tee-2-Green, a show he’s cohosted with Kevin Sylvester on Saturday mornings since 2001 as well as his career as a teacher and coach at Sweet Home High school, a post he’s held for 19 years.
Before wrapping up they talk Sabres hockey, including secondary scoring playing a huge role in the team’s surprisingly hot start and who may be the odd man out when Brandon Montour soon returns.
You can follow Brian on Twitter @BrianWGR and check him out on WGR-550 Buffalo in between periods and following Sabres games.
Following that Patrick’s joined by his buddy Joe (@BuffaloWins) for another installment of “The Run In With Joe.” Today they’re talking about the Buffalo Bills narrowly beating Miami last Sunday in a game that certainly lacked style points but still improved them to 5-1.
They discuss Tre’Davius White being the primary and perhaps only reason Buffalo were able to beat the hapless Dolphins, Josh Allen’s improving decision making and the welcomed consistency of John Brown before Patrick feeling like one area of the Bills vaunted defense is cause for concern and a big picture look at what to expect for the rest of the season.
