  • EP 12: Ross Tucker, “The Ross Tucker Podcast”

This episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast features perhaps our biggest guest to date, as Patrick Moran interviews Ross Tucker, SiriusXM NFL Radio Host, color analyst for NBCSN and host of the Ross Tucker Podcast.

The two get right to the point during an interview (43:00) as Ross is reasonably confident Richie Incognito hasn’t played his last NFL game. He also gives his insight to the one quarterback prospect that would be worth the Buffalo Bills moving up from No. 12 to 2 for in the NFL draft, now less than two weeks away.

Tucker (@RossTuckerNFL)  also gives his take on a few of the other quarterback prospects, speaks of the two non-quarterbacks he loves most in the draft, isn’t sold on the Los Angeles Rams being the class of the NFC and we finish up with Ross reminiscing about his time with the Bills in 2003-04.

Before that Tone Pucks (@TonePucks) joins Patrick for their weekly “Pat with Pucks” segment.  Patrick quickly realizes how old and out of touch the duo are when it comes to recent charting pop music before the conversation takes a bit more serious turn towards several sports topics, including plenty of Bills talk while  also checking in on the MLB National League and the Cleveland Cavs.

  • EP 11: Mike Harrington, The Buffalo News

On this episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast Patrick Moran interviews 30-year veteran Buffalo News sports journalist Mike Harrington.

Mike, who has covered 18 World Series for the Buffalo News, is a member of the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame and a voter for the National Baseball Hall of Fame while also covering the Buffalo Sabres since 2007, pulls no punches on a variety of topics.

Harrington discusses the losing culture of the Buffalo Sabres and how it has contaminated the locker room, analyze Ryan O’Reilly’s troubling confession earlier this week, says why Jack Eichel needs to be named captain immediately and offers his take on the negative ramifications of the “tanking” years that still linger today.

There’s plenty of baseball talk as well, including a discussion on what is wrong with the Hall of Fame voting process and what Mike suggests would help fix it.

The chat ends with a conversation about social media and the relationship between mainstream media and bloggers.

  • EP 10: Wrestlemania 34 With Rich Fann

On this episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast Patrick Moran recaps a historic Wrestlemania 34 with Rich Fann, host of the “Deep Dive with Rich Fann” that airs on the PWTorch Livecast every Saturday night.

Rich, who was among the 78,133 at the Superdome in New Orleans for the huge show, breaks down all the action from what arguably may be the greatest Wrestlemania ever (starting at 39:30 mark).  We talk the shocking outcomes of Charlotte Flair handing Asuka her first-ever WWE walk and the even bigger shocker, Brock Lesnar leaving New Orleans with the Universal Championship. We also talk about how impressive Ronda Rousey was, the Shinsuke Nakamura post-match heel turn and Elias getting the Wrestlemania shaft among several other topics.

Before that Patrick has on his Monday “Pat with Pucks” partner Tone Pucks (@tonepucks) and the two discuss a variety of topics (starting at 3:20), including QB prospects Mason Rudolph and Lamar Jackson, Richie Incognito firing his agent via Twitter, who should win MVP of the NBA, baseball talk and discussing the end of yet another miserable Buffalo Sabres season.

  • EP 09: Joe Barksdale, Los Angeles Chargers

On this Thursday episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast Patrick Moran has a very personal interview with Los Angeles Chargers starting offensive tackle and eight-year NFL veteran Joe Barksdale.

The pair discuss Barksdale’s living with deep and chronic depression for nearly 20 years, which had nearly drove him to suicide. Joe talks about why he decided to recently come public with his mental health illness and what he’s trying to do to help others (6:45)

They also talk about Barksdale starting his own independent record label and putting out a debut album, with one of the tracks being played in its entirety on this podcast.

You can purchase Barksdale’s “Butterflies, Rainbows and Moonbeams” debut album right here.

The interview is wrapped up with football talk, as Barksdale tells why he chose to go to LSU, wasn’t as thrilled as he should’ve been when they won the National Championship and why he cried tears, not joyful ones either when he was drafted by the Raiders in 2011. (Editors Note- At times the audio is pretty crappy due to a bad connection)

After that Moran is joined for a second consecutive Thursday by Maine7/Fox22 sports director and co-host of the “Living the Gimmick” wrestling podcast, Jon Alba (@jonalba).  The two preview and break down Wrestlemania 34 in New Orleans this Sunday and offer their predictions. (35:45).

  • EP 08: Greg Gabriel, 30-Year NFL Scout

In this episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast Patrick Moran interviews Greg Gabriel, a 30-year veteran of NFL scouting, including nine as the Director of Scouting for the Chicago Bears after previously spending 17 years in the New York Giants scouting department.

Greg gives listeners a straight-up education on the quarterbacks in this year’s NFL draft class, a crop he considers wildly overrated.  Greg ranks the perceived “big four” quarterbacks and gives his insight on each.  He does the sing the praises of a quarterback few are talking about as a first-round pick and indicates that guy could actually end up being a top 10 pick.

Greg also breaks down a pair of non-quarterbacks that could be a great fit for the Buffalo Bills and being a Western New York native, also talks about growing up in the area.

After that Tone Pucks (@tonepucks) jumps on for their weekly “Pat With Pucks” chat, where the two discuss how much Bills fans and the media apparently overvalued Preston Brown and EJ Gaines, talk a little Buffalo Sabres after they destroyed the best team in the NHL on the road Saturday night, and of course a little baseball.

  • EP 07: Bronx Pinstripes Founder Scott Reinen

It’s the first Thursday episode as the Moran-Alytics Podcast is now twice weekly and Patrick Moran interviews Bronx Pinstripes founder and The BP Podcast co-host Scott Reinen.  Scott talks about his inspiration for starting Bronx Pinstripes in 2011, a blog that has grown to phenomenal proportions and now has over 85,000 followers on Twitter.  He also talks about The BP Podcast, which this week checked in as the No. 75 ranked sports and recreation podcast in the world on the Apple Podcast charts; ahead of mainstream shows like the Adam Schefter Podcast, The Rich Eisen Show, the Jim Rome Show and countless others.

The talk then turns to the New York Yankees and Scott offers his takes on Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, the Yanks bullpen and rookie manager Aaron Boone before making a season prediction.

After that ABC7/Fox22 in Bangor, Maine and “Living the Gimmick” podcast host Jon Alba (@jonalba) pops on to help recap this week’s WWE Raw and Smackdown Live programs as the road to Wrestlemania gets inside two weeks.  Jon is extremely hopeful the Asuka vs Charlotte Flair match at Wrestlemania will be an all-time classic and wants to see a snarly Ronda Rosey with more regularity in a WWE ring.  Great stuff from Jon.

Before that Tone Pucks (@tonepucks) joins for their weekly “Pat With Pucks” segment and the two discuss how the New York Jets trade to move up to number-three in the NFL draft may have screwed the Bills over. The episode wraps with its weekly podcast awards: MVP to the mack daddy of NBA insiders and LVP to arguably the biggest idiot in the sports media, albeit a very rich idiot.

  • EP 04: Dorin Dickerson, Former NFL Tight End

On this week’s episode of the Moran-Alytics Podcast, Patrick Moran has a very revealing interview with former NFL/Buffalo Bills tight end and current part-time sports talk radio show host in Pittsburgh, Dorin Dickerson (8:10). They discuss the very personal and often offensive nature of NFL combine interviews, Dickerson’s 2012 season with the Buffalo Bills filled with uninspiring team meetings that left some players wondering if they were playing for a paycheck or a playoff spot, why he hid suffering a concussion during 2013, a promising career in radio and much more.

Then Tone Pucks jumps aboard the pod for his weekly “Pat With Pucks” segment (44:00) to talk extensively about the Buffalo Bills and the NFL in wake of an extremely eventful football week.

The episode winds down with its weekly podcast awards: Terrible Tweets to a douchebag Miami Dolphins reporter, LVP to one of Patrick’s favorite TV shows ever and MVP to a (prequel) movie long overdue.
