On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over his biggest winners and losers on the heels of the Buffalo Bills going to Pittsburgh and playing (mostly) awful in their second of three preseason games.
Patrick highlights three areas that were not only a sore spot in Pittsburgh on Saturday night but positions that given Bills fans credible causes for worry since the offseason began: middle linebacker, right tackle and offensive tackle depth. He also drops takes on a handful of players that definitely did not help their cause at other positions during this game, including Kaair Elam, Matt Barkley and a few wide receivers.
Conversely there were definitely some bright spots to take away from the game and Patrick discusses the the starting right guard competition feeling essentially over, a good day for two wide receivers and Greg Rousseau looking solid during his playing time.
In addition to more Bills observations Patrick has a few thoughts and perspective on legendary Buffalo Sabres broadcaster Rick Jeannerett passing away at the age of 81 last Thursday.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, it’s another installment of the “Live from Imperial” series as Patrick Moran is joined by not one but two of the best Buffalo Bills beat reporters in the market: Katherine Fitzgerald (The Buffalo News) and Alaina Getzenberg (ESPN.com) for a conversation shot live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo.
Both women head into their third season covering the Bills beat and Patrick has them talk about that experience, getting acclimated to Buffalo over the past few years, what they enjoy most about getting to Rochester for training camp and of course a little Bills talk on topics including Andy Isabella, A.J. Klein and Stefon Diggs.
Patrick also asks the ladies a handful of random life questions to give fans an opportunity to know more about them, and Katherine talks in depth about her Taylor Swift concert and subsequent story for The Buffalo News she did recently. All that and much more.
Be sure to follow Katherine on Twitter @kfitz134 and check out her work at The Buffalo News. Also follow Alaina on Twitter @agetzenberg and check out her work for ESPN.com.
Big thank you once again to this episode’s sponsor, Imperial Pizza for outstanding food and a great vibe to record the show in!

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective to discuss several of the Buffalo Bills roster and depth chart battles going on and how Saturday's preseason opener may have changed some of them in addition to some Buffalo Sabres talk as well.
There's a few positional battles Bills fans have been tracking since the start of training camp and Saturday's game offered some clues as to where they may be going. There were also a few performances, good and bad that may bring to a light a few more battles not previously talked about much, if at all. The guys discuss several of these and look forward to this Saturday's game in Pittsburgh that may offer even more clues.
They also scratch the surface on discussing if they think Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams did enough this summer to bolster the roster for a legitimate playoff run or if the GM is relying too much on his younger players to step up more in 2023-24 That, plus Personally PK and much more.
You can follow PK on Twitter @PK_BSC and check out the Buffalo Sports Collective podcast.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over his biggest winners and losers on the heels of the Buffalo Bills opening the preseason with a 23-19 victory over the Indianapolis Colts this weekend at Highmark Stadium.
There was plenty to like about Buffalo on Saturday, including James Cook looking electric in his brief time on the field, a trio of unheralded wide receivers trying to make a name for themselves, a pair of offensive lineman showing some promise and of course, Matt Barkley playing himself directly into a QB2 competition.
On the opposite side, Kyle Allen continues to struggle badly this summer, a linebacker has completely out of any starting competition, Kaiir Elam doesn't really take advantage of an opportunity and Khalil Shaker showed why he's capable of making great plays but equally prone to unforced mistakes.
That and plenty more today.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is solo and goes over his five favorite things he's observed throughout Buffalo Bills 2023 training camp that concluded Thursday at St. John's Fisher campus in Rochester.
Patrick got the opportunity to attend five camp practices in person and has several positive takeaways, including what seems to be a more aggressive/diverse offense and defensive philosophy, Gregory Rosseau and James Cook having standout camps, Stefon Diggs appearing to be in a great and the depth of the roster looking far better in camp this season compared to last.
That plus Gabe Davis, a mostly healthy camp season and more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Anthony Marino of Buffalo Rumblings for their weekly chat and the focus is on five areas of concern Patrick sees when it comes to the Buffalo Bills as training camp winds down in Rochester.
From the depth of the tackle position on the offensive line to Kaiir Elam not stepping up enough, low ceiling middle linebacker play and an absolutely horrible camp from likely backup quarterback Kyle Allen, there's some areas of concern when it comes to a team most expect to contend for a Super Bowl. The guys discuss this and other Bills topics as well as their "Finish the Sentence" segment and much more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran discusses some of his observations and biggest takeaways from Buffalo Bills training camp practice over the weekend and through the four practices he's been in attendance for so far.
On the offensive side of the ball Patrick has thoughts on the competition between Ryan Bates and O'Cyrus Torrence at right guard being far from formally settled although he has an idea of who he thinks will start. He also has observed great camps from Gabe Davis and James Cook while not being as high on a handful of offensive lineman and saving his harshest criticisms for the quarterbacks behind Josh Allen.
Defensively Patrick points out a great showing from cornerback Christian Benford, a budding roster spot competition between Jordan Phillips & Tim Settle, how Taylor Rapp may be deployed and more.
Before leaving Patrick also points out Kim Pegula being in attendance, the relationship between Allen/Stefon Diggs blossoming and a funny physical comparison involving Bills beat reporter Sal Capaccio.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran was in attendance at Buffalo Bills training camp over the weekend on Sunday and offers plenty of notes and observations from what he saw firsthand, both good and bad.
Patrick discusses Stefon Diggs just being on a different level on any other receiver in camp and his work against Bills No. 1 corner Tre White on Sunday. He also has thoughts on Tim Settle being the unsung hero of practice, Taron Johnson being ridiculously underrated, positional battles, Kaiir Elam lacking something he can't put his finger on and much more.
Before leaving he also takes a few minutes describing the camp experience going to St. John's Fisher and some tips to do (and not do) if you're heading out with no previous experience to watch practice.
