Derek was a key part of the Iowa City West’s success in the mid-2000’s. He won 2 state titles along with a Fargo national title. Derek went on to become the 18th 4x All-American in Hawkeye history, highlighted by his national title as a junior. Derek started his coaching career with stints at North Dakota State and Virginia Tech before landing at Iowa State. Derek will be entering his 7th season with the Cyclones and they’ll be locked and loaded for a top-10 run at the 2024 NCAA’s. So please, sit back, relax and enjoy, Coach Derek St. John!
