Joe went to Shawnee Mission East High School and was a 2x Kansas state champion. He went on to wrestle for the University of Iowa and was a 2x All-American, placing 2nd and 6th. Joe actually started his coaching career as an assistant at Cornell College before joining the Missouri coaching staff in 2008. After 11 seasons with the Tigers, he moved on to the Air Force Academy and is now the Associate Head Coach. Joe has a reputation of being one of the hardest workers around, something he established growing up and now instills in his own athletes. So please, sit back, relax and enjoy, Coach Joe Johnston!
