TCKs have special qualities that make them an asset in the workforce, something I personally didn't even notice since this is what I considered "normal" my whole life. Our special guest Karin has been in the workforce for over 20 years and in her years of experience has come up with a list of skills TCKs naturally posses because of our up bringing. Karin Avila is a Third Culture Kid (TCK) originally from California in the United
States. She moved to Saudi Arabia with her parents when she was 14, and she
attended boarding school in Austria until she was 18. She spent time studying
at a university in Heidelberg, Germany, and she eventually obtained her
bachelor's degree in International Relations at San Francisco State University.
She received her master’s degree in Environmental Management at the University
of San Francisco where she completed an internship and studied near Budapest,
Hungary. Karin built her career in clinical research and has held multiple
administrative leadership roles in the healthcare field. She is currently
residing in Spain and pursuing various personal projects related to travel and
