Ever wondered what Expat Coaching is? Our guest just so happens to be one! Join us as we talk about what to expect when you get coaching. So if it's something you were interested in join us in our conversation.

Deborah is an expat coach and intercultural psychologist.
Also, as a seasoned expat, she have lived, studied, and worked in 5 different countries on 3 continents.
With her own experience, coupled with her observation of other people’s experiences, motivated her to search for answers as to why we sometimes fail when moving to a new culture, and more importantly how to increase the chances of success.
This quest led her to pursue a Master’s in Intercultural Psychology and complete a coaching certification at ICC (International Coaching Community). And is also a certified trainer and NLP Practitioner.
With these tools in hand, She's been helping expats and expats-to-be so they can overcome the challenges of moving and creating their best life abroad.

My guest Carissa Gobble is a high school friend of mine and previous podcast guest. She joins us as we talk about the different things she has done for her family to pass on to her kids some of the cultures she grew up with and how to integrate a part of her into her kid's up bringing.

Carissa is a Third Culture Kid who grew up in four countries and four different states before the age of twelve. Currently an author of 4 books. She works from home writing. She lives in the Portland, OR area with her husband, 4 children and cat.

Anna, a fellow TCK, now mom of TCKs shares her personal experience of what it's like to raise a family overseas and what she discovered working with families who are on similar journeys.
Anna Danforth grew up in Cameroon as a third culture kid where she developed a passion to help global families thrive overseas. She married her high school sweetheart from DR Congo and they raised their two kids in Lesotho and on a farm in South Africa. Anna drew on her experiences as a third culture kid, missionary, and teacher at the Africa Orientation Course to write Raising a Family Overseas. She also provides training on Ethical Image Sharing as a Global Citizen. Anna lives on a fruit tree and macadamia farm in KwaZulu Natal with her husband, two kids, dogs, cats, horse, and best friends.

Join us today with our guest, author of Misunderstood, Tanya Crossman as we discuss what she has learned in her research as about what is considered "normal" for a TCK who is now an adult.
Tanya Crossman is the Director of Research and International Education at TCK Training, a leading provider of preventive care for TCKs worldwide. Tanya has over 18 years' experience in the field of cross-cultural family care (largely in China and Cambodia), including 10 years' research experience. She is the author of "Misunderstood: The Impact of Growing Up Overseas in the 21st Century" (2016), a book which opens a window on the experience of an international childhood in the internet age.

She was the founder of Experience Taiwan, a Southeast Asian travel business brand. She has experience working in Psychology and Neuroscience academic research labs in Los Angeles and Taipei, respectively.

November 18, 2023 Loneliness and Expectations (ft. Jordan Stewart)
Our guest today talks about his experience of feeling loneliness growing up as a TCK. Join us as we peel away the different layers of how the feeling othered affect us and how we were able to take a step back from our situation and made sense of the different chapters of our lives.

Jordan's TCK journey began at the age of four when his parents became international humanitarian aid workers. For the next 12 years, he lived in several countries in the Middle East and Central Asia, before graduating high school in Germany. Jordan returned to the United States (his passport country) for university, and now lives in Virginia with his wife Erin. While he faced challenges associated with the frequent moves during his childhood, he cherishes the people he met along the way, and the opportunities he had to learn about culture and community.
