  • TCS Ep253: The Iggy Heard 'Round The World
Welcome back to Tall Can Sports with Matt and Rob as we roll on through the summer.
It's been a shockingly busy week for the dog days of summer and it's left us with tons to cover including the moves that the Toronto Blue Jays have made as we approach the MLB Trade Deadline, several Toronto Maple Leafs players returned to the city to attend Nazem Kadri's wedding and many of them are sporting hair that Old Man Lou would never approve of, and many of them are taking part in drunken Arab dances and having a blast doing it, Iggy announcing that he will announce his retirement, Trevor Linden stepping down from his post with the Vancouver Canucks, drunk boaters making sweet belly flop catches from NFL superstar QBs and so much more.
Many of your favourite sports podcasts have disappeared over the summer but we'll never abandon you. And you can find even more new greatness from us over at www.patreon.com/tallcanaudio and support the show all at once.

  • TCS Ep252: Johnny Le Football
On an all new episode of Tall Can Sports the guys kick things off by discussing an NHL player who was just dinged for a speeding ticket that will cost him over $150,000 in fines. Seriously. Even more unbelievable? He's not the first guy this has happened to.
Up next, some of the big blocks across MLB have started to fall as it relates to the trade deadline. But does everyone have to send their stars in to the AL East to pound on the Blue Jays? And Rob and Matt disagree on where Roberto Osuna is likely to end up.
After just 6 weeks in Hamilton, Johnny Football has been dealt to the Montreal Alouettes. Montreal is clearly banking on this guy being the end to their awful QB carousel but so far he's proven nothing and cost them a ton. Who won this deal and is it a good fit?
Later on, the guys speculate on what Leafs fans should be expecting William Nylander to get on his new contract and whether or not Dan Hamhuis signing in Nashville is a good fit.
Join us on an all new TCS as we rip through the summer sports landscape together.

  • Audio Whiplash Ep128: Naked Naps In The Subway
Welcome back to Audio Whiplash as there's all kinds of crazy crap going on in the world, as usual, and we've tried to cram as much of it as possible in to this one.
First up. The guys debate the finality of a ticket giveaway. On the heels of Matt being offered someone's concert festival pass only to have the person turn around and take it back, we ask the question. A-hole or A-okay? When giving away something like that do you maintain the right to change your mind or are all generous gestures final?
Later on, there are multiple companies trying to capitalize on your apparent desire fora midday nap... Seriously... They're like tiny little pods that you rent by the hour. Are you interested? And how did this lead us in to a conversation about Rob being naked in an airport?
Following that, some creep in St Louis is filming and streaming his Uber trips to the internet. As a driver he's taking thousands of viewers on a reality show with him as they spy on private conversations, judge women's appearances and just generally be weird. He's not technically breaking any rules, but is this okay? When you ride in someone else's vehicle are you entitled to privacy or are people who allow customers in to their cars free to do whatever they want in those cars?
And finally, the story of a mailman stealing veggies from the gardens of people on his route and Amazon delivery people being able to come right in to your home to leave your packages rather than placing them on your door step.
Lots to cover on this summer edition of the flagship and we hope you enjoy it. Listen at tallcanaudio.com or by searching Tall Can Audio on your favourite podcast app.

  • TCS Ep251: Maximum Damage
It's time to kick off a new week and as per usual Matt and Rob are with you on your Monday morning to kick around all the latest in the world of sport.
Up first, just before the mics were turned on, the NHL announced that Jacob Trouba had his arbitration amount handed down. The guys give you the number and actually don't agree on whether or not it's fair value. Who else is in his new financial bracket and why do the boys feel differently about it?
After that, Josh Hader of the Milwaukee Brewers found himself in hot water this week at the MLB All Star Game when some old tweets became public that did not paint him a great light. Upon returning back to Milwaukee, fans greeted him with a standing ovation. It was a strange moment that left people scratching their heads on what fans in Wisconsin were cheering about. Should Hader be held to a better standard considering everything that's going on in society right now or are people being overly hard on someone who said something stupid as a teenager?
And then, Tiger Woods also found himself in the eye of a PR storm as he apparently brushed off some kids seeking autographs. Should athletes be expected to oblige or is it unreasonable to ask them for their time before they get to work?
And lastly. Sportsnet released a list of the biggest acquisitions in Toronto sports history. There's big moves by the Leafs, Blue Jays, Argos, Raptors and even TFC. How do they stack up and how many can Rob guess?
Don't forget, there's always more TCA at www.patreon.com/tallcanaudio.

About Tall Can Audio - A Pint Of Canadian Sports Talk

From the publisher's feed

Tall Can Audio is a Canadian sports, craft beer, comedy and culture pod with a focus on the NHL and beyond. Join Matt Robinson, Rob Christy and the rest of the TCA Crew as we sample a local craft beer on each show while discussing whatever's on our minds from the world of sports, music, or anything else that's making us laugh that day. Plus tons of great guests thrown in to the mix as we go. Yes - we could be accused of occasionally going a little overboard on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators. Join us for a pint and a chat!
