We kick things off today with our beers of the day including a very special one that was sent to Matt for review.
Later on talk turns to the Women’s World Hockey Championships being postponed following a decision by the Nova Scotia Provincial Government and the outrage that it’s caused, Robyn Lehner’s angry comments about the NHL’s vaccination protocols, the over analyzing that’s going on around the Toronto Maple Leafs losing skid, Matt and Michaela’s horror stories about times their favourite teams were eliminated in excruciating fashion and plenty more.

It’s fight week once again as the UFC gears up for one of their biggest cards of the year. That can mean only one thing. It’s time for fight pints as Matt is joined by Graham Creech and Stephen Bunda of TSN1200 to get you all set.
Please make sure you’re subscribed wherever you’re listening right now and if you have just a second - please leave a rating and a review for the show on your podcast app.
tons to get to here as the lads discuss the craft beer pints they’re rolling with on this episode, what we should make of last weekend’s “celebrity” fight card and if it’s the future of boxing, takeaways from UFC260 and where to go next in the Heavyweight Division, whether the main event at UFC261 is just a cash grab or a legit matchup, the women’s fights that are prime to steal the show, under the radar fights you need to keep an eye on, what McGregor has left to offer the Ultimate Fighting Championship and so much more.
Creech and Bunda are a couple great guests with awesome craft beer takes and better fight knowledge and we were stoked to get them back on TCA.

Welcome back inside an all new episode of the Tall Can Audio podcast as today Matt is joined by legendary play by play man Dan Shulman of ESPN and Sportsnet.
We’d love it if you’d take a second and leave a rating and a review there on your podcast app. It only takes a moment and it’s the best way to help out TCA. Oh - and it’s free!
We’re so excited to have Dan rejoin us and there was plenty to talk about including whether or not he’s discovered any new craft beers throughout the pandemic, who has the better Big Boy Broadcast Voice between Dan and Tim Micallef, what life has been like trying to call NCAA college basketball and Major League Baseball games through this pandemic, repeated trips and quarantines as he’s alternated between calling games from home, various TV studios and actual on site settings, the behind the scenes workings of this season’s Toronto Blue Jays broadcasts, balancing his new responsibility of doing a TV and radio presentation at the same time and plenty more.
And we of course took the opportunity to talk a little Blue Jays baseball with Mr Shulman and got his thoughts on the weird start the team is off to, which injuries he’s most concerned about, the slumping offence, pleasant surprises on the pitching front and lots more.
Dan is the best in the business at what he does and we are super excited he chose to come back and join TCA once more.

Man oh man oh man! What a jam packed episode of the Tall Can Audio podcast with Matt and Rob. And as if it wasn’t already jam packed enough - stick around until the end because the Leafs start making trades as the boys are wrapping up the show and we had time to break that down too!

Here we go! On today’s episode: the boys discuss the craft beers they went through on this gorgeous summer’ish weekend, Rob reflects on the passing of Prince Philip and shares some stories of times his Dad spent with the Royals, the Blue Jays are off to a fairly mediocre start and we look at some of the more alarming trends, the New York Islanders make a fascinating deal with the New Jersey Devils as Lou is re-united with some old friends, the Vancouver Canucks continue to bury themselves in cap garbage, the Ottawa Senators finish up an absolutely baffling season series with the Edmonton Oilers, the Tampa Bay Lightning are gearing up for another hard run at the Stanley Cup, a fun little list of 80s songs that made it all the way to Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 but could never grab that top spot and then of course as things wind down the Toronto Maple Leafs start making moves and we take a few minutes to look at where they’re heading.
it’s a big boy show with tons of ground to cover! So let’s not waste another second. Fire it up!

On the agenda today: the usual craft beer banter, Schreids’ WrestleMania hot takes, Cody Ceci has somehow found himself a gig in Pittsburgh and he’s killing it, Major League Baseball players are being vaccinated and it’s completely changing the dynamic of the season, a list of Dad Rock Essentials has Matt and Michaela feeling old with their musical tastes and lots more.

It’s WWE WrestleMania Week so we turn to our wrestling guru Sportsnet’s Kevin Michie.
Make sure you take a second to support the podcast by leaving a rating and review for the show on your pod app.
On this edition of TCA Matt and Kevin discuss wrestling gradually making it’s way back in to mainstream sports culture and how Kevin is responsible for helping to get that done on Rogers Sportsnet.
later on the guys discuss some of their favourite WrestleMania memories and some of the moments that grew the event in to what it is now.
And with this year seeing the return of fans to the event after a year of empty buildings, we look at what to expect out of WM37 and how it might follow up from last year’s empty arena presentation. Is the 2 night show better than the traditional one night deal? Which matches are set to steal the show? Is the card going to be hurt by a lack of “big names”? How did this year’s lineup come together in to something pretty special?
It’s one of the biggest week’s of the year on the sports calendar and we’re pumped to talk about the whole thing with our buddy Kevin Michie over a pint or two. Give him a follow on social media @KevinMichie and keep an eye out for his work at Sportsnet.ca.
