Shortly after 5 AM on Sunday August 20, 2017, Surrey RCMP were called to the 6900 block of 127A street near Kwantlen University campus in Surrey, BC. When they arrived, they found a man who they described to be in his early 20's unresponsive in an alley behind several businesses. The victim was later identified as 19 year old Tanner Krupa of Edmonton, Alberta, and to this day the case remains unsolved.
