Wicked and Grim: A True Crime Podcast

On October 9, 2020, a quiet Dallas neighbourhood became the scene of a horrifying execution when 49 year old Jamie Faith was ambushed and shot seven times while walking his dog with his wife. The gunman vanished almost as quickly as he appeared, leaving behind a devastated family, a terrified community, and a murder that seemed to defy explanation.
But as investigators began digging into Jamie's life, they uncovered a twisted trail of secrets, disturbing accusations, and an obsession that stretched hundreds of miles across the country.
Behind it all was a calculated web of deception so elaborate that even those closest to the case struggled to comprehend its true extent.

On a secluded 20 acre farm in Wimer, Oregon, Susan Monica lived an isolated life, raising livestock and hiring local handymen to help maintain her property.
When 56 year old Robert Haney disappeared in 2013, his family's desperate search led investigators to the farm, where a horrifying discovery exposed something far more sinister. As detectives questioned Monica, her increasingly disturbing confessions revealed the gruesome fate of another missing man, Stephen Delicino, whose remains had been concealed on the property for years.
With growing evidence that included remains consumed by pigs, the investigation uncovered a chilling case of murder, deception, and the disturbing lengths one woman went to conceal her crimes.

Victor Lustig built a criminal career around elaborate confidence schemes, false identities, forged documents, and an extraordinary ability to convince his victims that the impossible was real.
In 1925, posing as a French government official, he convinced scrap metal dealer André Poisson that the Eiffel Tower was being secretly dismantled and successfully sold him the rights to tear it down.
Then after returning to the United States, Lustig became involved in a massive counterfeiting operation that flooded the country with remarkably convincing fake currency while federal agents struggled for years to catch him. His life would eventually include dozens of aliases, an escape from federal custody, a nationwide manhunt, and imprisonment on Alcatraz.

In 1632, an Ursuline convent in Loudun, France, became the center of a terrifying series of events when nuns began reporting apparitions, violent convulsions and demons taking control of their bodies.
Their exorcisms became public spectacles that drew enormous crowds, as priests desperately tried to identify what, or who was behind the supposed possessions.
The women eventually pointed to Urbain Grandier, a controversial local priest with powerful enemies, claiming he had used witchcraft to send the demons into them. But as the accusations grew and supposed supernatural evidence began to emerge, so did serious questions about what was actually happening inside the convent and why Urbain had become the man blamed for it all.

In the summer of 1995, 15 year old Elyse Pahler was lured from her California home by three teenage boys she knew, unaware they had spent months discussing murder, Satanism and the sacrifice of a virgin.
Royce Casey, Jacob Delashmutt and Joseph Fiorella, members of a wannabe metal band called "Hatred", believed killing Elyse could appease the Devil, give them power and even make them better musicians. So after leading her to a secluded eucalyptus grove, the boys violently killed Elyse before concealing her body, leaving her family searching for answers for nearly eight months while her killers remained silent.

In 1996, sixteen year old Rod Ferrell led a small group of teenagers who embraced vampire identities, drank one another’s blood and carved symbols into their bodies.
But when the group travelled from Kentucky to Florida to collect fifteen year old Heather Wendorf, their planned escape to New Orleans took a devastating turn. Heather’s parents, Richard and Ruth Wendorf, were found brutally beaten to death inside their Eustis home, while their youngest daughter had disappeared along with Rod and his friends.
The investigation that followed soon exposed a disturbing world of blood rituals, animal killings and teenage obsession, while raising a much darker question about where fantasy ended and real violence began.

In February 1999, 44 year old physiotherapist Audrey Trudeau was preparing to leave Calgary and return home to Ontario when she suddenly disappeared. Her car, belongings and beloved cat were left behind, while conflicting explanations began circulating about where she had supposedly gone and why.
As police investigated, attention increasingly turned toward Deborah Point, Audrey's longtime friend and temporary roommate, as forged cheques, missing items and disturbing evidence inside Audrey's townhouse raised increasingly serious questions.
Then five months after Audrey vanished, a discovery inside a detached Calgary garage would finally reveal what had happened to her and transform a missing person investigation into a murder case.

In December 2002, the discovery of dismembered human remains inside garbage bags in Camden, London, launched an investigation that would uncover something far more disturbing.
The remains belonged to two women, but evidence soon led detectives to a nearby apartment where another woman had been found dead less than a year earlier. Inside, investigators uncovered blood evidence, photographs of the victims after death, and a trail connecting the crimes to a man who had already spent years moving through the criminal justice and mental health systems.
The investigation into the man who became known as the Camden Ripper would ultimately expose three murders, devastating missed opportunities, and the possibility that the true number of victims may never be known.

In November 1986, 39 year old flight attendant Helle Crafts returned to her Connecticut home during a violent snowstorm and seemingly disappeared into the night.
Her husband, Richard, offered a series of conflicting explanations for where she had gone, but Helle’s friends knew she would never simply abandon her three children and began pushing police to investigate.
What followed was a trail of blood inside the family home, a newly purchased freezer that had mysteriously vanished, a commercial woodchipper rented days after Helle disappeared, and a late night sighting along a frozen Connecticut river. And piece by piece, investigators uncovered the horrifying truth behind Helle’s disappearance and built a murder case unlike anything Connecticut had ever seen.
