The Making of Rogue Planet and it's Future Plans

In this episode I show you how I made "Rogue Planet" a beat  for a fellow artist named RJ Trujillo. Each sound can be given a meaning or a greater purpose in relation to the MC's lyrics. Enjoy a beat breakdown and the full reveal at the end and hopefully it might spark a creative idea within yourself. Here are a couple of things that I think are important to remember when creating (beats specifically) and will be found mentioned in the breakdown of Rogue Planet:

* Don't give up on a sound too quickly. It can be used as your stepping stone for the next better sound.

* When recording natural instruments such as hand drums and guitars, make sure to try your best to capture the moments of natural inspiration by allowing yourself the time to experiment and connect with the song.

* Sometimes a scratch track can stem the final idea.

* Try to be aware of how a listener might perceive your song at any given point. If you have a feeling they might get tired of hearing the chorus in the same fashion, switch it up. In my case, I switched up the whole beat!

How far are you willing to creatively stretch when creating music? How do you even go about deciding which songs see the light of day on the album? These are a couple key takeaways from today's interview with Idalee.

What about his story?

HE CAME TO IN THE HOSPITAL WITH A CRIMINAL COURT SUMMONS

And he narrowly escaped jail simply because no one was in the car he smashed into.

Drunk and on cocaine he crashed his car into a parked government vehicle and put his

head through he windshield.

After years in Los Angles making music, his lifestyle caught up with him. It squandered

his demo deal with Geffen Records and his relationships with some music industry

heavy hitters. He brought his demons with him when he moved back home to the

Washington D.C. area. And he finally ended up in a stretcher.

He’d had a number of softer wake up calls before but he says this was the one that

came right before death. He feels this was his true second chance at life and he had to

make good on it.

Tranquility Sparks Inspiration

In this episode, I describe a experience that led me to write potential lyrics for a future song. All of this was sparked by a relaxing day at the spa. By using my relaxation as fuel for inspiration I had a writer's block free writing session in front of majestic scenery. It all hit me right after my massage and full body wrap when I was slowly escorted into a relaxation patio that overlooked a golf course with the monumental Sadia Mountains filling it's horizon. Once I sat down and settled into my cushy lawn chair, I realized to notice how this experience was affecting my mental and physical state. Upon this reflective thought brought a surge of pure and instantaneous inspiration. I quickly went to the lobby and found myself a clipboard, pen, and paper. Once I returned back to the relaxation patio, I snacked on a cranberry scone and my emotions drive my pen. By the time I wrote all the relevant lyrics I could think of, I had a potential song named "Tranquility".
