March 06, 2016Season 2 episode 2 – Bill’s “how to steal an election 101” ….Furious that he had to cut music for episode 1 and keep his questionable political mouth shut; management acquiesced to letting Bill “go” for 10 minutes. this is an editorial that will inform, entertain, offend and make you wonder when Steve and Tapper toss Bill into therapy….or maybe just get him a nice massage. (the poor guy sounds beat to s—) Feynman insists Trump has effectively 0 percent chance to win, why? clicky clicky! ...more14minPlay
October 23, 2015Quickie cast pt 4 – Back to the Retardation ….Tapper laments to Steve that the bits they’ve been working on all damn day got lost in the mix. Hawking and Tapper recount the 15 mins of b-roll they just recorded of Bill Feynman, whose sobriety, choice of accents and senility levels are called into question. The BTTF ‘trilogy’ is paid tribute to by debuting the midi of an arrangement by Tapper & Bill; the intro and cool fanfare parts are culled-out, as the middle and end aren’t written yet. The loss of great bits are again lamented as Tapper recounts the difficulties writing, voicing, editing and publishing a podcast immediately following win8.1 system failure. The two agree that the “Hulk Hogan did 9/11” bit should be redone, so they outtro with another 80s anthem, “I AM a (something) American,” by …who knows?...more6minPlay
October 11, 2015Quickie Cast Part III: Dr. Hawking and the 1990 Crossmen ….The method’s by which the acclaimed physicist who suffers from ALS – Lou Gehrig’s disease is able to speak using the movements of his eyelash is now open-source. The famous voice itself however, is not. So I made one. Tapper tries the voice on for size and they listen to the 1990 Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps play “Now or Never” from the LIVE PBS recording of THE SUMMER MUSIC GAMES. Tapper and Hawking agree it’s one of the best closers ever. This is another quik-cast to let listeners know that we are still in the prototype stage this show and to say “Look ….we still exist … we have fresh ideas and content that are all WIPs ….there is lots more to come.” Posted v1 and fixed some minor tracking issues w/in v0. 10/11/15.The human and his fictionalized companion have lots more shitposting to do, especially as the holidays roll out so strap on…err… IN. -t, –b & -s ...more4minPlay
July 24, 2015Quickie Cast Part IIMy arrangement of “Aerith’s Theme” is no longer available online. Musecorps limits free account to 5 arrangemnts so I pulled the one with tyhe least juice & placed it at the top of this episode. Like all the others it is a WIP. Then I wraps about DCI for a bit…. I layed down an apropros Battery bed to accompany about 4 mins of news & commentary plus an intro to a recently published arrangement of “Salvation” if you can “name that bed” or the “name that stinger I appended to the outtro…well you don’t win anything but it means you Confirmed for HIP.As always, more ideas, new, editorial, artwork and music is on its way to the one, the ony, the LEGIT —-TapCast...more10minPlay
July 12, 2015Quick and dirty Podcast update….Been busy so I posted a friends sample of an arr. of Shaft he’s been working dilligently on, a few words about voicing, transcription and arranging in MuseScore plus the transcription I am most proud of this far and put by far the most time into; “Relm’s Theme” comp. Nobuo Uematsu for FFIII for the SNES, my alltime fav. “weepy loop” …loops once. All are WIPs, natch and the next ep. will be on same topic and =lly concise and hopefully – sweet.More commentary, music, news and design asap....more11minPlay
June 08, 2015Episode Three: Opening the drum corps season with–Openers–Part OneWhat better way to kick off the season than a look back at some of the best–OPENERS! To prove my objectiveness in opener-selection, no corps that I was ever in or a part of was selected. These casts are limited to about 10 clicks each, so I cut three favs, added some groanful commentary using the Microsoft “Ease of Access” voice: “Hazel” (upped the pitch and speed of her Brit-voice slightly), mixed, rendered and kicked it out. I really just want to post something new….we are after all ON iTunes now, so if anyone’s listening I hope you like the licks! More coming soon. The 1996 Cadets of Bergen County, Javascipt alert! ——–> Yea!The 1995 Madison Scouts and …The 1992 Concord Blue Devils are featured. Please visit the above sites or DCI.org to obtain full (UNCUT) versions of the samples played herein. thx....more9minPlay
June 01, 2015Episode Two – Absurdly rare tracks just for Tapcast listeners ….I snagged, mixed, tossed in some minimalist voice-over rendered ‘er up in Audacity and blew it out for you; all fast-like. The first track is almost impossible to find and features the keyboardist we all love, Chick Corea, performing his solo arrangement of Eleanor Rigby – I’ll let that track speak for itself. The following track is an upbeat love-song you’ve probably never heard if you’re not from the Spanish-speaking part of the world. “Hoy te amo” which means, simply, “Today I love you.” Can’t say I’m even sure of the artist, but I pulled it from deep within the TapVault — making it no less apropos for this podcast. More so actually. Enjoy and come back soon. We go up from here. Much love, -t...more8minPlay
