Taskmaster: The People's Podcast

This week Jenny and Jack spy with their little eyes something beginning with Series 9, Episode 9 - a true classic with a little bit of everything from live task meltdowns to bloody knees. Plus they answer listener questions, and pose a few questions of their own - including, should comedians be allowed to drive?

Next week we'll be talking Series 8, Episode 8 in an effort to find the fifth and final contestant to complete the 'People's Pod's Cheaters of Cheaters' lineup.

We may be in a new year, but we're watching an old episode of Taskmaster! This week Jack and Jenny are back covering vintage episodes, starting with Series 12 Episode 4, which was suggested by a listener several weeks back.

With it comes discussions about Victoria learning to ride a bike, whether there were any hacks missed in that task, and why sex just isn’t funny (if you’re doing it properly).

Plus Jenny and Jack consider which Taskmaster contestants they would trust their lives to in a life or death situation.

Next week we'll be talking Series 9, Episode 9 - one for the spies.

This week we're bringing you some of the best moments of 2024. It's been a great year, from Lou's rocking predictions, to Little Alex Horne's task writing strategies (and why he might not be using a mangle), and some behind the scenes insights from the 'voice of Mr Blobby' herself. And remember when Jenny learned what face swapping was? Plus there are a few listener emails in there that you might not have heard before. Enjoy and we'll be back next week to talk more vintage Taskmaster!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of our People's Pod listeners! This week we have the hilarious Kojey Radical, who's here to give his commentary on the new NYT episode - including which contestant he thinks should have been paid extra and why. Plus we get to chat to him about his 2024 performance and what he'd give for those golden eyebrows.

Keep your eyes and ears out for Kojey's new album in the new year (fingers crossed for a song about an amoeba with leprosy).

Next week we're revisiting some classics before getting back to our homework.

Jack and Jenny speak to Persia's mum ahead of the Junior Taskmaster finale, which airs tonight! And don't worry, no spoilers here.

Phaedra gives us insights about the casting process, how they've made new friends for life, and why she didn't know anything about the filmed tasks - plus how Persia's bestie reacted when she spilled a secret to Mike the Milkman. Also, Jenny makes the mistake of dissing pigeons.

Next week we have a Radical guest on to help us talk New Years Treat!

This week we're emptying the People's Pod post bag and circling back to all the emails we couldn't get to this year - consider it a sort of holiday party but without the snacks!

In this episode we try to finish some unfinished business from series 18, receive some Hot Dog Queen fact-checking that could have changed series 15, get schooled in maths and even hear from the Andy's!

We continue our very merry lineup with special guests from now till New Year, so stick with us for The Taskmaster festive season.

And now that the inbox is emptied, we're ready to re-stock some emails, so send in your thoughts to [email protected]

This week Jenny and Jack wade in to 'The Best Thing from the 90's' debate from Series 7, Episode 3, brought to us by a listener in last week's podcast. Also discussed: burpees, why there should be more dribbling on TV, most disturbing noises for podcasts, and go-to interesting facts.

Our next homework assignment will be Series 12, Episode 4. But we won't be getting to that until the New Year, because we have some very exciting guests lined up for the next couple of weeks!

We are back to our homework this week, with Jenny's first task being Series 8, Episode 3. Discussions include the Taskmaster outfit Jenny wishes she had thought of to wear, what Jack thinks about Lou’s prize task (that he would definitely say to her face) and why you should really never pie Jenny.

Plus we hear from fans about contestants who've delivered babies, how to buy Absolute Casserole in the US and what our next homework assignment should be.

Well it's been over a week and Jack and Jenny have had some time to reflect on Series 18 and there's a lot to unpack.

Jack brings his stats to the table and Jenny reviews some of the best and worst moments from each contestant.

Plus, did the Joker transform the scoring system as much as Jack thought it would?

The pair also talk about Nick Mohammed's prediction and the counting chairs debate too, plus we hear from the Andys regarding all your caravan-related questions.

Sound the bugle, the series 18 season finale is upon us! Jenny acknowledges the moment in this episode that made her feel quite sad and Jack ponders the universality of buttock-clenching. And it wouldn't be a Taskmaster finale without a new lineup announcement, Jack and Jenny take us through their initial thoughts on the brand new New Years Treat cast.
