Do you have a good conscience? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview. The apostle Paul said to Timothy, “the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” (1 Timothy 1:5)The conscience is an inner alert system to keep you from sin and impel you to righteousness. But the conscience is not infallible. We should not claim an inner voice is necessarily from God. All promptings must be examined against God’s word. If you’re not sure, obey your conscience now and then seek a more biblical understanding of the issue. Violating your conscience is sin, as is doing something that offends a weaker believer’s conscience.Hear more at TheChristianWorldview.org.And then tune in this weekend for another topic that will sharpen your worldview.
