Tea with the Muse

Good morning dear ones! You haven’t heard from me for a bit because I didn’t have any Internet in Mexico. I kept recording things for you but couldn’t get them posted ~ so for today I’m posting a poem that I wrote on the plane, but in the moment, I embellished it as I spoke it. Perhaps it will stir something in you ~ maybe pick up your own pen or magic keyboard, and see what shows up!

Dear Ones, I’m in Mexico for the holidays teaching art and I was thinking of you and our struggles to become. Here’s an approach I learned from my 2 mamas.

* Why asking if you are good enough won’t work out

* How our environment keeps us grasping for belonging

* Considering your ideal question for you as authentic to you

* My proposal of a better question

And yes…there are wrong questions and mistakes.

Wow did I have a big change, it is still taking time to arrive within me…but I wanted to share it with you and perhaps ask you…what is the IDEAL you have been living by and is there unconscious resistance that keeps you from receiving it?

Hello everyone! Please forgive me for a little foray into political discourse this past week. I am doing my best to show up for my community instead of going quiet. Because it directly relates to women and people of color and safety, and even the way that we self express, it actually comes into my lane. I will likely be complete with my commentary soon. But for now this is how I’m showing up. Take it or leave it. In a way I am modeling, intentional creativity through sharing my process in community. This is the painting I’ve been working on during the cycle. #wetpaint

Hi community! I know there’s so much going on, but please take a listen on a walk or while you’re painting if you are interested at all in why I am taking a stand in the middle, which is not a neutral stand. This arises out of my concerns for the golden age rhetoric that I’m seeing and also how we are being so divided and just saying, actually that doesn’t need to happen.
