We now turn to the battle of Marathon which would be the final battle of the first Persian invasion. The battle of Marathon is one of the more famous of the battles during ancient Greek times. However, there are many questions that still are asked today with what took place there. In this episode we will be familiarising ourselves with how the battle developed, though through the context of areas that still remain unclear. Each question that I highlight in this episode will become the focus of its own bonus episode as we continue forward. This will give us a good opportunity to look in depth at each and see if we can understand what was happening.
