  • The metrics have changed for valuing your business, Michael Quinn CCA TR Podcast
Michael Quinn will be speaking at Cloud Connections 2024
“The metrics have changed for valuing your business,” says Michael Quinn, the founding partner at Q Advisors and founding member of the Cloud Communications Alliance, CCA. “That means that your strategic exit has to change and how you think about it and the types of services that you deliver to your customers has to change as well because you're being valued on different things than you were five or six years ago.”
Michael has not only witnessed but has actively participated in the rise of the cloud communications community, from a small collection of ten-million-dollar annual revenue companies to a group of one hundred-million-dollar companies. Along the way, technology, the role of technology giants such as Microsoft, and changing macro-economic conditions, such as a higher interest rate environment, have changed the way a company can grow, merge, or acquire other companies. In this short podcast, we catch a glimpse of the talk Michael will offer on this new landscape at Cloud Connections 2024.

  • ScanSource and Intelisys might change the way agents sell Cisco with new program, Reel
A new way for agents to succeed in the complex Cisco market
“ScanSource is a Cisco distributor, but most agents find working with the Cisco normal model very difficult and frankly very expensive,” says Mike Baur, CEO of ScanSource. “We partner with Cisco to put together a special program for agents to allow them to find opportunities for Cisco products and services and then work as a sales agent with ScanSource backing them up.”
In this very brief reel, Baur tells us a little more about this program that would enable agents to go deeper in the Cisco market, leveraging ScanSource resources. “The idea is how can we enable agents to add devices to their portfolio because at the end of day the end user is asking for a total solution, hardware, software, and services. And we think we can provide an answer to make it a lot easier.”

  • Welo offers the channel a collaboration tool that promises to give the channel partner a sticky differentiator, Podcast
“Welo is a great adjunct platform for channeling,” says Chance Myers. “It is a very simple holistic collaboration platform. It allows channel partners, resellers, MSPs to have a platform that is a plug and play. It's very simple, there's no programming, there's no learning curve whatsoever and it can lay on top of the current platforms that you're offering right now, and it allows you the opportunity to white label a unique differentiator that helps you with customer retention and initial sales instead of coming in with a platform with just a price.”
Myers outlines how Welo might be the different sort of thing a channel might be looking for: situational awareness. Those are two words we don’t see often used together.  In a virtualized organization, with widespread hybrid work and a distributed workforce, Welo promises to duplicate some of the “visual cues” we would have in a shared physical office.
“We bring you a true white label solution that allows you, or to help you, own the customer at the end of the day. Because that's your goal, is to own the customer.”

  • AT&T Partner Exchange (APEX) offering bespoke, customized partnerships for the channel, Podcast
“Technology is constantly changing and our business expertise in the industry really entails market development funds that we offer our solution providers, technical engineering expertise, our account management expertise and of course our operations,” says Rick Chapes, AVP of Sales for AT&T Partner Exchange (APEX). Chapes explains, “AT &T Partner Exchange is a resale channel of AT &T's indirect partner solutions organization. What we do is we offer our fiber and wireless connectivity services to resellers in the market, or commonly referred to as aggregators, and they take our fixed wireless and mobility services, and they bundle it into their value proposition in the market, and then resell it to their end -user customers.”
“What makes it different for me is the customized, the bespoke service of it. Our customers can really buy internet connectivity 5G just about anywhere, but it's the customization, the attention to detail that really sets the Apex program apart from some others in the marketplace,” says Max Joseph, Sales and Business Development at AT&T, who joins Chapes on the podcast.   “Our differentiation in the market is that we have portals that our solution providers can utilize, so it's all about speed and simplicity when our solution providers are going to market with our fiber and wireless services.”
