  • Podcast: Understanding Poly Grant Assistance Program (PGAP), Part 1 Education and Remote Learning
Poly provides a value-added service (Poly Grant Assistance Program or PGAP) focused on helping organizations understand where the funding exists, what it can be spent on, and eligible use of funds. In this podcast, Cheryl Henshaw, director of the program, outlines how the program works and how the program helps various organizations meet communications challenges. During the pandemic (and subsequent stimulus funding), PGAP has enabled the purchase of UC technologies. PGAP has helped organizations and agencies develop funding to purchase both voice and interactive video technologies that have helped schools, colleges, universities, courts, corrections, first responders and a gamut of healthcare providers to maintain continuity of operations while limiting viral spread. Henshaw focusses on the unique challenges facing education, where institutions must equip their facilities, remote teachers and remote students.

  • Podcast: New ASCDI Member Offers New Opportunities In The Secondary Market
In 2020, the secondary market underwent something of a renaissance. As supply chains became strained and broken, the secondary market became, for many people, a primary source. At the same time ASCDI stepped up its program to make the secondary market even more green. Part of that story includes Greeneye Partners joining ASCDI. Greeneye Partners provides internal audits for your facility to R2, e-Stewards, RIOS, NAID, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. In this podcast with Kelley Keogh Co-Founder, Managing Director of Greeneye Partners, we learn about her company’s auditing and training services. Keogh discusses new opportunities and existing, but perhaps less visible opportunities in going green. Keogh outlines how certification can open doors to the huge public sector market verticals such as health care. Keogh outlines what ITAD is and how it’s a way for ASCDI member companies to add value as they build on a strong 2020.

  • EDUcast: Monitoring Collaboration Success
    by Gary Audin

Video conferencing took off is a big way when many employees started to work from home (WFH). Many enterprise based unified communications systems were able to weather the traffic growth, But the cloud based UCaaS services had more trouble and therefore their connection quality suffered.

Jonathan Sass, VP Product development at Vyopta and Gary Audin recorded this 16 minute EDUcast to discuss what happened to conferencing quality starting back in March 2020. Jonathan discusses the goals of collaboration and the results of poor quality. Vyopta analyzes 6,000,000 endpoints and over 10 billion conferencing minutes a year. He points that there has been significant growth in the number of participants in a typical conference. Jonathan then presents what he sees as the new normal for conferencing especially the fact that many businesses use multiple UC platforms. He then moves on to discuss the monitoring and analytics issues surrounding the use of multiple UC platforms.

What you will learn in this EDUcast:

    Collaboration today
    Success attributes
    Meetings have changed
    Measuring collaboration experiences
    The new normal

  • Podcast: Own your customer relationship, build company equity says Altaworx
According to Jamie Rawden, Vice President of Channel Development at Altaworx, retaining the customer relationship is critical to Altaworx’s channel partners. Losing that direct relationship, handing parts and pieces of that connection over, eventually undermines the channel partner’s equity that he has in his own company. In the era of cloud, relationship ownership is equity. In this podcast, we learn how Altaworx helps their customers achieve those relationships while still meeting the complex requirements that lead so many companies to hand off their customers. Rawden walks us through what she calls the three uniques: allowing companies to retain equity, handing customers complex billing and taxation needs, and offering white label UCaaS and mobility options. We learn about Altaworx’s channel program, and unique services offered at www.getamop.com . We also learn about a “catapult” feature that enables beginners to jet ahead.

Through its work with one of the top three global carriers, ROVA connects over one million licensed devices enabling secure, manageable and dependable network connectivity for smartphones, mobile hotspots, and laptops to power the remote workforce. • Podcast: New ASCDI member sees bright future for alternative sources to current supply chain
Leon Wheeler, Director of The ICC Group, thinks that as the Covid crises recedes in 2021, companies will be looking to alternatives to the traditional supply chain. The ICC Group is a new member of the ASCDI, but Wheeler’s career spans three decades in the market. In this podcast Wheeler gives us an overview of ICC’s products and services, including being in-stock on secondary market Dell, HPE and IBM, plus services such as maintenance and EOSL (end of service life) for specific major brands. Wheeler discusses supply chain minimalization, a potential reversal of a two-decade trend, for many companies, to become dependent on a just in time supply chain. Covid exposed weaknesses and deficits in that chain, and Wheeler feels that his firm and the ASCDI community represent an alternative source. This podcast is the inaugural podcast of The ICC Group as an ASCDI member.
