  • Podcast: Flowroute helps with navigating the common pain points of cloud migration
“We can turn it into minutes of downtime,” says Evan Griffiths, Business Development Manager at Flowroute. In this podcast, Griffiths outlines how Flowroute’s patented technology can take an event such as a failover, which might result in 24 to 48 hours of downtime, into a virtual blip, instead of a day or two of trauma. Griffiths discusses the need to have cloud-based communications tools to help businesses maintain operations during unforeseen disruptions. We hear how businesses/CSPs can utilize cloud-based services to evolve their operations and communication efforts to ultimately gain more control over their own IT and communication applications. We also get a glimpse about what the landscape might look like as we move beyond migration to new challenges.

  • Podcast: Adaptive CloudUC follows the user throughout the day, delivering unique experiences
One of the challenges that the cloud communications community is confronting is the need to make the features that are being sold, more accessible and easier to use. At the close of 2019, BroadSource, a Cloud Communications Alliance member, was issued a patent for Adaptive Cloud Unified Communications technologies. In this podcast Haydn Faltyn, CEO and Michael Gliana, Chief Technology Officer of BroadSource give a look at this new technology which allows CloudUC systems to adapt to subscriber behavior without requiring explicit user intervention. It integrates mobile computing devices with Cloud Unified Communications systems. Faltyn and Gliana believes that Adaptive CloudUC will give BroadSource’s clients a major offering because it makes the “network follow the user, instead of the other way around.” From the standpoint of the individual user, the fumbling around with logins and portals is replaced with simple, elegant and easy to mange experiences. We learn how these differentiated experiences will set BroadSource’s community of service providers apart at a time when offering a non-commoditized product is more important than ever.

  • Podcast: The trusted advisor is a movement says leading master agent, Avant.
According to Jennifer Gallego, the trusted adviser phenomenon is much more than a trend. Gallego says that it’s a movement. One of the founders of Avant, and currently heading up a sales team that works across the western US and EMEA, Gallego says, “… the trusted advisor sits on the same side of the table as the customer,” helping that customer make solid long term communications choices in a crowded, noisy and information rich environment. Avant recently announced the expansion of their partnership as part of Zoom’s Referral Partner Program to offer Zoom’s video-first unified communications platform through Avant’s network of Trusted Advisors in Europe. Avant Communications is a master agent and leader in channel sales enablement of next generation technology solutions. We learn how Avant is positioning itself to help their agents and partners to offer new experiences and services while forging the Trusted Adviser relationship that Gallego sees as critical to ongoing growth and success. “Avant enables the trusted adviser,” says Gallego. In this podcast, Gallego outlines what she describes as “business transformation” invoices puling together social media, real time communications and other UC into something that is responsive and alive to customers actions, comments, and questions.

  • Podcast: Inteliquent partners with ClueCon as a sponsor and user of multiple technology developments including FreeSwitch.
Being a virtual conference did not stop ClueCon from being a successful event. Nick Reifschneider, VP of Product – Communications Service Providers and Over the Top speaks to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication, about the conference, Inteliquent’s fast paced history and their advanced networking technology.

Inteliquent continually strives to deliver a secure and fast network to carriers around the world. Nick goes on to cover some additional ClueCon technology as well as STIR/SHAKEN requirements being provided as a result of the FCC mandate.

Listen in on a very informative conversation with Nick!

Inteliquent’s been transforming the communications landscape for decades. Some of their roots began in the late 1980’s with a local Minnesota telco consortium which eventually became Onvoy in 1997. In 2003, as Neutral Tandem, they created an independent tandem backbone network — the first of its kind — that streamlined call routing across wireless, cable and broadband networks. and they quickly grew to be the largest provider of tandem network services in the United States. In 2007, Onvoy was acquired by Zayo Group and then spun out of Zayo in 2014 after acquiring Vitelity, LLC. Onvoy, LLC continued major growth acquiring Broadvox and Layered Communications in 2015, followed by ANPI in 2016. GTCR, the PE firm which owns Onvoy, LLC, acquired Inteliquent in early 2017 and merged the two companies under the Inteliquent brand. Today, Inteliquent forges ahead leading communications enablement for today’s service providers.

  • Podcast: Helping the channel tackle mobility, become a trusted resource in the main growth space
“It’s no longer just about managing just the smart phone,” says Greg Plum, Channel Chief at Mobile Solutions. In this podcast Plum makes the case that the mobility end point is a most critical part of the network, and that securing that end point, and managing that resource properly is a key to many other challenges. “Ask what they’re doing with regard to mobility,” urges Plum of the channel partners, challenging them to engage their customers as a trusted resource, and not just as a cost cutter. Plum discusses the company’s three pillar approach to the market: OPTIMIZE, focusing on cost containment leveraging MAX, their proprietary software platform providing enhanced visibility and control, when compared to the carrier portals; SECURE, addressing the need for a comprehensive unified endpoint management (UEM) solution to ensure security and control at the device level; and MANAGE, offering device staging and kitting, and even device reclamation, to recover costs on the back end. Plum discusses some new offerings and opportunities for channel partners as well. The company has developed very innovative answers to challenges such as hotspot shortages, as people had to shelter in place, and now bandwidth management tools for schools requiring CIPA compliance for their student users. Plum is excited about the way Mobile Solutions is allowing partners to “uncover mobility” issues, and then offer dynamic solutions that address those needs. “The story of savings never goes out of style,” says Plum, “but the future is elevating the conversation to address what is keeping IT managers up at night… security.”

  • Podcast: The coming convergence of network and security
Aryaka Networks offers The Cloud-First WAN for Dummies, co-authored by today's guest.

The global pandemic has fueled an increased acceleration towards cloud-first architectures and need for simplicity and better change management. As enterprises move their applications to the cloud, they are shifting away from traditional legacy architectures towards cloud-first architectures that deliver flexibility, simplicity and better alignment with fast-changing business needs.

Last year, Gartner predicted this convergence of network and security as-a-service, specifically on the WAN side, dubbing it Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).”

Shashi Kiran, Chief Marketing and Product officer of Aryaka, a global leader in cloud-first SD-WAN believes this SASE vision will take 3-5 years to pan out, but both security and network vendors are trying to fill holes in their portfolio to develop the right building blocks to address the needs for this convergence. He’s here today to talk about how he sees this as the next MAJOR inflection point in the wide area network (WAN).
