  • Podcast: Interconnect routing, rating, billing and switching raised to a new level with Linxa
Telecommunications is going through massive changes.  In order to stay current with those changes, telecom companies must adapt.  One of the major components of the change centers around the routing, rating and billing.  Kunal Dave, VP of Global Sales at Linxa, provides a great look at the changes taking place with Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication.

    Kunal Dave

Rather than prepaid, postpaid and metered we now have transactional for OTT operations.  Oh yah, do not forget IoT. But that is not all.  To make things more interesting, lets change the accounting system so it is dispersed. As a result, telecommunications must now support block chain as well.

How is a telecommunications company going to keep up with all the changes?  The answer is that they cannot.  They need to rely on a company that is dedicated to the billing industry. If you are a mobile operator, a calling card operator, a fixed line operator, OTT or other operator, you need to listen in as Kunal explains how his company and their 5 year development investment into Linxa will help you prepare and survive the new wave of communications services.

Linxa makes it simple and fast to grow your profitability and capture new revenue. Their technology has been created to solve challenges in the Wholesale Telecoms market and accelerate their customers’ growth without the limitations of legacy technology or processes.

Their platform gives you the fastest path from quote-to-cash with all the performance, security and monitoring solutions to guarantee your success in the Wholesale Telecoms market.

  • Podcast: New Satellite constellations will provide expanded communications with more competition for your internet dollar
SpaceX is in the process of building an extensive satellite constellation. Justin Kilpatrick, CTO and Co-Founder of Althea, is also a space enthusiast.  He has been studying the current, new, and proposed satellite systems for years. In talking to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, Justin provides some insight into how companies like SpaceX and Amazon via Blue Origin will impact the future of communications.

    Justin Kilpatrick

SpaceX, for example will be setting up their constellation via a satellite deployment system which will reduce cost to 1/100th the cost of traditional cellular satellites.  They will also be able to offer service at significantly reduced rates which will allow them to enter and capture remote markets from the current cellular providers. Look for major changes moving forward. Listen in to a very informative discussion!

Althea is a system that lets routers pay each other for bandwidth. This allows people to set up decentralized ISPs in their communities. In an Althea network, instead of one ISP at the top collecting monthly payments, many different people can earn money by expanding and strengthening the network.

  • Podcast: Service providers are the new corporate firewall as Billions of IoT endpoints become entry points for malicious activity
Service providers are racing to support 5G.  In the process, the door will be opening for hyper-expansion of IoT support and IoT devices. If you think protecting the corporate jewels is tough now – just wait.

Mike O’Malley, VP of Strategy at Radware provides an in depth look at the effects of 5G and IoT on security to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication.

Creating 5G secure network slices that protect the IoT devices, monitor the traffic and make sure they are behaving normally is one option. If bad behavior is identified, quarantine or eradication of the malicious activity can then be performed. The detection will need to be performed at the network level and not the device level.

    Mike O'Malley

Three things that service providers need to do:

Build 5G Infrastructure with security in mind from the start
    Build a secure ecosystem
    Automation of security systems

Radware plans to continue its leadership role in automation to help service providers automate security tasks and help them move into intent based learning technology.

  • Podcast: There’s MRR in those invoices!
Opportunities for Channel Partners and MSPs

“Buying household staples used to be so simple,” says Bob Norberg, CMO Cloud Age Solutions. “You were able to go out and buy, for example, laundry detergent.  Your decisions were simple.  The most complex it would get was which brand.  Now, there are so many different packages, scents, that can take forever to make a decision.” According to Norberg technology follows the same pattern. “Technology is starting to become the same way, there are so many options and the availability of new options is so rapid, decision making is slowed and more complex.  It is also easy to be paralyzed, worried you are making the wrong decision.” In this podcast Norberg outlines his thinking on how MSPs can achieve MRR by helping their customers cope with change and choice. Norberg believes that Agents, resellers, and MSPs are starting to build offerings and programs that give them more of a personal touch with their customers. Norberg outlines the Cloud Age Solutions SaaS platform called gpxcloud. gpxclouid is a cloud native platform for channel partners and MSPs to offer their customers visibility into and ongoing management of their telecom services.
